How bad is the rideshare shortage?

Looking to use Uber/Lyft for one day in early August to go from a Disney resort to Universal. I've been hearing some horror stories about not being able to find drivers through these services. Are there tips right now to securing a driver?

If you want something that will fit your whole party, a lot of the local limo/town car companies have minibuses and vans that can fit everyone, rather than having to do 3 Ubers.

I think that was me. Uber/Lyft to all places and no issues, just preplan and you should be fine.

I waited 10 minutes a few weeks ago after walking ten yards from the baggage claim. Drove in a beautiful BMW

Zero problems on our stay last month. Often the wait for Uber XLs (minivans) was less thsn the wait for an Uber X, so a few times we did Uber XL even though we didn’t actually need it.

There were uber/lyft cars queued up pretty much everywhere we went on Disney property and the airport last time we were there.
