How bad is September

We went the first week in September 2003, before free dining. The heat and humidity were both high, and that was something I wasn't used to, being from Colorado, but I managed! Most of my memories of that trip are of the fun we had, not how hot and sweaty I was. lol The crowds were very, very low. We are going back again that same week this year. I am a plus size lady too, and was expecting to have at least a little trouble fitting on some of the rides, but I didn't have one problem...I was very pleasantly surprised!

Seriously are those really what they are LOVE BUGS ? I thought that you were meaning that there were people around all huggy and kissy am I wrong are they really bugs ? :confused3

I say ditto to what everyone has said. We went this past September and loved it. We've always gone in March before but decided to "risk" September. If I could always have my way I would go in September every time. Being from NC the heat didn't seem bad to us and for the week we were there it didn’t rain once. The only worry we had when booking this was the risk of a hurricane. But we did it anyway and loved it!! Perfect weather and the crowds were non-existent. Go & have fun!!! pixiedust:

Pkjne--

September has been my favorite time of the year to go to WDW---so far. My DH, DD, and I went last year during free dining in the middle of the month and had the best trip EVER! It was warm and humid, and love bugs were mating machines, but we really didn't notice or mind any of that. There were NO crowds, so we basically walked onto everything--eliminating a lot of waiting time for rides out in the heat. We felt that we were just jumping from one air-conditioned place to the next, and we barely had time to get too hot. By middle of the week, we actually stopped putting on sunscreen because we felt more hot and sticky with it on. (We are not big burners though--so please sunblock accordingly) ;) It only rained one evening the entire trip, but we were inside on rides, so it really didn't deter us. We would be going back in September again this year, but we decided to try the week after Thanksgiving instead so we can see the Christmas decor--neither of us has ever been there to see it. If we don't care for touring in November though, I can guarantee we will go back to September touring from here on out! Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

I am in agreement- Plus Size sounds so much better than Overweight!!!

We went last September and LOVED it. I enjoy the warm weather and I think the only ride I waited longer than about 5 minutes for was Dumbo (I just HAD to go.. never got to when I was little). We're going back again this year and I'm so excited! I went in August before with my mom when I was younger and found it MUCH hotter, and almost an hour wait for everyhing.

Thank you so much for the information....................I am getting so excited and I still have about 150 days to wait...........can I handle it ???

:tink:

Great info here, thanks everyone!! We survived humidity and heat before, although not sure abt the crowds over Labor Day? Anyone have an experience to share? We are there 8/31 to 9/4 its a Friday to Tuesday. DH likes to limit vaca days, and this trip will only be 2:) We will have a little one in a stroller, her first trip!!!

Does anyone know how the crowd level in the parks will be on Thurs Sept 6 - Wed Sept 12? This is the first week after the long weekend so I was just wondering if it will still be pretty busy or will the crowds thin out right after the holiday Monday?

TIA for your help!

Jax,

We did the exact week you're describing last year ....

Perfect time to go, IMO. Let's just say it was far less than crowded. :thumbsup2

Thanks PezDSpencer,

I am so glad to hear it is a good time to go, I was starting to worry that we decided to go at a bad time. The last time we went to WDW and we were hoping that this trip would wouldn't have the same amount of crowds/wait times.

Now if only it was September :rotfl:
