I want to take DD (8) at the end of May/ beginning of June. I thought about driving down Sunday May,29, doing Discovery Cove on Memorial Day( as they limit crowds) and then staying until June 9. Do the crowds die down after Monday, memorial day? I know to avoid June 4 at MK as it will be crowded, but will it be slower this week than wairing to come June 5-15?I'm trying to work around swim team!

Hi bairdbeth,

We went at this time in 2000 and would go again.
The memorial day weekend was crowded and hot,
but it was manageble. The crowds did diminish some
after and we did not notice a large increase in the
crowds for gayday. As far as the crowds for gayweek,
I just went to Gaydays.com and looked at what parks were
set up for which days. I then made our schedule to be
at different parks and we never had large crowds at all.
It worked really well. Good luck

---This summer, we found that the parks were busy all summer long, even on weekdays. Holidays, of course, are always busier.
---My dh and I stopped at Epcot for lunch yesterday after we took ds to school. Epcot was empty! We went on Maelstrom with no wait, and were the only people on the boat. Also, the longest lines for the food and wine festival stands were only 2 or 3 people deep. My advice, pack your bags and come now!!!

We went Memorial Weekend through June 7th this year. The only day that the crowds were terrible was the day after Memorial Day (Tuesday) at Magic Kingdom. I think everybody thought the same thing we did-stay at the resort on Monday to avoid the crowds and go there on Tuesday. Of course, it made for a terrible crowd on Tuesday. That was not a good idea.

We didn't have any problems with crowds at Epcot(went the Sunday before Memorial Day), Wednesday at MGM or Saturday at Animal Kingdom.

It was hot but not unbearable. I would go this time of year again because it's not yet peak season and I won't take my kids out of school. Due to my job, I can't go in July and August.

:D

I've been at WDW on Memorial Day and it's not as bad as I had suspected. It was crowded, but like others have said, manageable. The crowds thinned a little after Memorial Day, but not overwhelmingly recognizable. I would definitely go again during that time.
