How bad is it to get back to the Poly....

from MK and Epcot when you take the monorail (in July) at the parks closing? Is it crazy?? From the MK I could take the boat back over to the Poly but Epcot I'm limited to the monorail. I'm thinking it will be crazy with not only resort people but also with tons of people going to the TTC.

Its not "crazy"... its a ZOO!

Try to avoid traveling at peak times (but in JULY... EVERY time is nearly a PEAK time.)

But anyone who travels to WDW during the summer should EXPECT CROWDS and allow for them.

If you happen to find a crowd, relax.
If you happen to NOT find a crowd, rejoice!

When you're leaving the MK, be sure to take the RESORTS MONORAIL. That monorail will be much, much less crowded than the TTC monorail. We always just took the boat back

You can take the monorail from Epcot to TTC then just walk to the Polynesian. There's a walking path right from the TTC to the Polynesian, the two properties actually are next to each other, as you can see in the first picture below. Here are pictures of the signs and path, taken while on TTC property, that leads to the Polynesian. It's a beautiful stroll at night, although somewhat dimly lit.
