How bad are crowds Easter week? Am I crazy?

I am a teacher in the Northeast so unfortunately I can only travel during school vacations. I went during my April vacation (always the 3rd week in April) in 2015 but it did not coincide with Easter and it was still very busy. I wanted to plan a trip for 2017 and as soon as I saw that Easter was going to be the week of school vacation I opted to go during my February break instead (always the 3rd week in February). I'm still expecting it to be crowded, especially with President's Day but I would take that over Easter week for sure. I've been to WDW 15 times and have pretty much always gone during school vacations. My mom was a teacher so we had no choice. Now I'm a teacher so I have no choice. I think if you go in expecting it to be crowded and have a good game plan you will be fine. I would always choose crowded Disney over no Disney at all!

having a wife who is a teacher here in the Northeast, it used to be the same, if you had an April vacation that did not coincide with Easter you would see smaller crowds. However over the oast 5 years or so i have noticed not much of difference for either April vacation or even February vacation for that matter. I have just resigned myself to the fact that there really is no such thing as a true "slow season" anymore

No way on God's green earth will I ever go around Easter again! I have many trips under my belt since 1978 and the only time I have ever left a park early due to crowds was Easter break 2014! Wall to wall people at the MK by noon, it took us over an hour to make our way from Peter Pan/Small World area to the front to leave, we had one family member in a wheelchair and had to have one person walk in front of her, one on either side of her and one pushing to be able to get her out of the park since people were pushing against the chair and stepping OVER her feet to try to cross in front of her! Lesson learned for sure and will never be repeated, give me Christmas week any time!
