I was curious as to how brides are going to wear their hair on their wedding day...As for me, I am undecided...maybe some pictures from my wonderful friends on here might help ;)

This another thing I am having problems with. I want it up in a bun toward the back of my head- I am not sure if I need extensions or a hair piece...I have a hair appt for trim/color and will talk to my stylist then, she is not doing my hair at Disney but hopefully can tell me what I need for the style... I would love for you to post pics of your hair.....
Great Post, AMy!!!

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've picked out a few pictures from mags and online, but nothing is really doing it for me. I'm not planning on getting anyone for hair and make-up either, so it has to be fool proof for my MOH to do on her own. Once the day gets closer I'm going to meet with my hair stylist and see what her ideas are.

Another to join the list! I still have no idea what I am going to do, I have been through every single hair book I could find, searched the net ... no luck! Have you tried doing a search on msn or goggle? I typed in wedding hair gallery, wedding hair, wedding hairstyles etc and it came up with quite a few websites with lots of pictures! I can’t decide a colour let alone a hairstyle; I am blonde at the moment but thinking of going a chocolate brown? Hmm! Decisions, decisions!
Good luck ladies! :thumbsup2

Not to do with hair styles itself but i found it helpful!

10 Tips For A Great Wedding Hair Style

Six months before the wedding, have a major consultation with your stylist of choice. Bring along the headpiece and the picture of the dress if possible. The more the stylist knows about the mood of the wedding, the better he or she can create the perfect hairstyle.
1. Do not use the portrait session as the "dress rehearsal". There should actually be a hair style "test run" for the portrait.
2. During the "test run," walk around with the hairstyle you plan to wear to determine its comfort level. A good rule is: the simpler, the better, since pins can hurt, and intricate styles are often delicate.
3. Consider the time of day and type of wedding when choosing a wedding hair style. Loose styles are appropriate for informal or daytime weddings, while up-do's portray a formal, evening look.
4. Remember that some wedding hairstyles can add inches to a bride's height, and shorter brides may want to use this to their advantage.
5. Do not have any chemical treatments the day of the wedding. That is not the time for surprises!
6. Hair color looks its best the first two weeks, so have your hair colored a week to two weeks before the wedding.
7. If a permanent wave is necessary, have it done a month prior to the wedding.
8. Hair that is too fine and over-conditioned does not style well, so deep conditioning treatments should not be used within four days of the wedding. For best hair styling results, shampoo hair lightly the day before the wedding and, if possible, do not wash hair the day of the wedding.
9. Stylists and makeup artists do their best work in their own environments with their own tools, so have your wedding party meet at the salon a couple of hours before they need to be at the ceremony for pictures. This increases efficiency, (and usually costs less!)

I did curls and wore my hair completely down. I hate my ears, so had to camo them with the hair. I absolutely loved it and it is so surprising I think for a bride to wear her hair down because most do updos now it seems like. I got so many complements on my hair, and it really didn't take that long and wasn't at all hard to deal with-if it started falling out, it would just be looser curls (it didn't, and it was 95 degrees with 85% humidity), so no big deal. I stuck the tiara on top and slid the veil in-done. No pins, no nothing.

Joining the club! I was going to do my hair down (partially due to a request by my fiance), but I told him it would be WAY too hot for me. We started looking through magazines to find an updo but they all seem too complicated to do my self.
I need something simple that will also look good with this tiara:

I did something similar.

My wedding was intended to be very casual, including my hair! :teeth: I always wanted something simple, with flowers in my hair. So that's what I did. I made a floral "halo" and wore my hair pretty much as I do every day. I figured, that while this day was indeed special, it was still "just" me. I kinda liked that whole feeling...and very comfortable too (no pins or sticky hair product).

I wore mine up and still had my bangs. Disney Cosmo did a great job. I took a few pictures of the trial run I had back home and they did a better job. My Mom is a stylist but wouldn't do it, didn't want the pressure LOL!

Yeah...mine was down, but still formal and with plenty of hairspray! It just wasn't a big deal if it fell, because it would still look ok. I had a hard time finding a pic where you could see it well (veil) but here's one where you can sort of see...this is before the ceremony but I liked it better the day of my bridal portraits.

Have we seen pictures from your wedding? I can't place any right off, but that doesn't mean anything. I look at them all!!

There is a gal that used to be at the Ivy Trellis at the Grand. She is now at a salon called Salon de Cruz. She is truly amazing! She can do hair extensions and up dos, down with curls...whatever you want! The bottom line is that you will feel like a Disney Princess! Her name is Carrie Czunas and she does lots of weddings.

I hope this is okay to put on the boards. She is just very special and a Disney friend!

Wishing you Pixie Dust...

This is definitely something I'm concerned about , however, since Lisa is doing my hair (formerly with Disney cosmo), I'm not worried. I've heard from so many brides that they went down there and Lisa just worked her magic. Even without a trial run, which I really don't anticipate having the time to do... I can't wait till our wedding day... :Pinkbounc

Does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to have someone come to your room and do an updo for you? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to put it on the board.
I haven't had to pay for one in a while, so I forget how much it is. Plus I figured they would charge more to come to your room.
Thanks!

Great post Princess Amy. I am stressing about how to wear my hair as well. My fiancé wants it down, my mother wants it up and I want it half way up, and the rest, loose. I was thinking that I wanted some of it up with roses (like my bouquet), in my hair, but I already purchased a tiara and a veil . . . now I'm thinking I don't want a tiara or a veil. . . . I mean, my wedding is in the morning, and not necessarily so formal . . . I don't know what to do!!!! :confused3

It would be great to see pics of how Disney brides have worn their hair!!!!!!

i had my long hair down in curls with some pinned up on top for my veil.

I sure am glad people are enjoying this post! :yay: I have no clue how I want my hair...since it is a evening wedding and formal I should wear it up, but I'm kinda leaning towards half up half down with curls...so many decisions!!! At least now I know I am not the only one that has no clue how to wear her hair

I lived in the Orlando area until a few months before the wedding so my regular hairdresser came to my room and did my hair, MOH's, and MIL's. She doesn't like to drive though, so my former roommate (who also goes to her for her hair) had to pick her up and drive her to the WL and back! We all have pretty short hair so it was just a blow out, curl, style, but of course mine was more involved with the tiara (no veil). With the tip is was about $180.

I've posted this pic before but this is after 5 months of growing my hair and she did an absolutely amazing job with my hair - I loved it and everyone who knows me and has seen the pictures cannot get over all the hair I have!

I wore a tiara/veil with an updo. I have long hair, and the stylist curled it and interwove the curls so it looked like they had been delicately piled inside the tiara. JDMasso, don't stress too much about what time of day or what everyone else wants. Just pick the style that YOU love, and you'll be beautiful on your special day.
