How are Weekly Pts. Calculated???

Ok....we are going to SSR (for our first trip home ) in May '08. We'll be there May 25-31 which is a Sun-Sat. It is 7 nights. The weekly pt usage is 255 but when I plug my dates into the DVC planner, it calculates it just nightly (at 31/nt) giving me a total of 285. How do they figure a weekly rate?? Is it 7 nights....no matter what day of the week it starts, or does it have to start on a certain day???

It would be 225 for a 1-bedroom, 285 for a 2-bedroom.

Your week can start on any day you choose.

for 2007, that is "dream season" for a 2BR - which calculates to 285 a week (31 a night sun-thurs and 65 each for fri and sat.) i assume 2008 would be the same.

i'm not sure where you're seeing 255 unless you're looking at "choice season" which is mostly oct-nov...?

The point chart I'm looking at says 285 per week for a 2 bedroom unit. It is figured for 7 consectutive nights, regardless of what day of the week the week starts. If you are checking out on May 31, then that is 6 nights (25, 27, 27, 28, 29 & 30) so you have 5 nights at 31 points (155 pts) plus 1 night (Fri) at 65pts for a total of 220 points. If you are staying that Saturday night and leaving on Sun, June 1, then it will be 285 points.

This is what I mean:

if you look at the pts. chart it gives you pts for Sun-Thurs, Fri-Sat, and then underneath is says-weekly, which is 30 pts different then if you just add the 7 nts. together.

So do they give you a little break if you do stay for 7 cons. nights?

You must be looking at a misprinted point chart. THe point chart on the DVC site says 285 per week. 255 per week is for Choice Season, 285 per week for Dream Season (May)

Here is the point chart for SSR this year. The May dates are the same next year as this year. It clearly says a 2 bedroom is 285 per week, a 1 bedroom 255. Considering 31X5=155 and each of the two weekend nights are 65, if my math skills are correct, 155+65+65=285.

Exactly what chart are you looking at, and is it online? What size room are you looking at?

I've looked at several charts, and they all say the same thing. May 1-31 is in Dream Season, and assuming a 2BR the points add up to 285.

The only place I see 255 is for a 2BR during "Choice" season, which isn't during the period you mention.

Remember that this year there was a point chart sent out with some errors, and they had to reprint and resend it. But I don't remember if it was the SSR chart or not.

Don't want this post to get lost in the fray. You are not staying 7 nights as you claimed in the original post unless you have misstated your stay of Sunday through Saturday.
