How are the March crowds?

The touringplans crowd blog doesn't go up to March 2007 yet. Does anyone have a link to a 2006 or 2005 one? I'm wondering how good/bad March is. I figure most families go either during Feb. or April school vacation. Which leaves March for only spring breakers and they're mostly out in the late afternoon/night while we'll be there park opening and in bed by 8pm. Right?

Anyone have March info?

March is pretty busy especially after the first week when the whole state of Texas starts their Spring Break and I'm not talking about college kids I'm talking about elementary and on up so that's a lot of early risers, in bed by 8 pm'ers. I can't say that it's as busy as the Easter breakers but it is not slow.

The two times I have been to WDW (1997 & 2003) were in March for Spring Break. I'm in Texas, so both times were in early March, and while there were crowds, I didn't find them overwhelming. The weather was beautiful too! Hot enough for swimming and water parks, but not so hot and humid that you melt! I'll be back next year for Spring Break and I'm hoping for more of the same!

It depends on when you go in March. The later you go usually the busier it will be. We have been several times during the 2nd and 3rd week of March and it is manageable. Except for March of 05 we went the last week of March and it was the week before Easter. I will never go the week before Easter again. It was so bad we did not even go the park all the days we planed we did some other things. When they say the week before and after Easter are really crowed believe it.

We just returned from a March 12-19th trip. It was spring break for several states including Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa and Tennessee. I didn't think the crowds were unmanageable. We have been twice before during Thanksgiving week and it seemed more crowded at Thanksgiving than spring break. We avoided the crowds by arriving at the parks when they opened and following Tour Guide Mike's recommendations as to which park to visit on which day. The weather was wonderful. I would go again during spring break.

We went in March 2004. March is spring break for everyone (elementary, junior high, high school, college). It is one of the busiest times at the parks (I believe it may be second only to Christmas). It was awful. We had to stand in line for everything, and by stand in line I mean for 30-90 minutes for each ride. We had everything planned out, ADR's, a list of must do's. We stayed in the parks from early morning until late at night. We did not get to see everything we wanted (and we are not big ride people, no coasters at all). We never got on the buzz lightyear ride at MK, fastpasses were out and the wait was more than an hour. We had to wait for two hours to make sure we had a spot where we could see the spectromagic parade in MK, and we did not even get spots right on the street in front. I do not recommend going in March, unless you have been there many times so the popular attractions are not must do's, or you can't go any other time of the year. The parks are packed and the weather can get fairly warm (upper 80's, well I consider that warm). But if it is the only time of year you can get away, then go, it was still a lot of fun.

well my family went in march...... we went the first week in march..... it was great!!! no rain and in the mid to upper 70's so we wore sweatshirts in the evening and shorts in the daytime..... we did not do the water parks though.. and the crowds....... there were none.... we didnt wait longer than 15 min for a ride and using the fastpasses we were walk ons..... i would deffinatly go back in march.....

So would the end of Feburary into the 1st week of March is a good week to go? -- the President's Day crowds should be gone? Or will I run into Mardi Gras crowds?

I'm thinking of going Feb 26th to March 2nd of 2007 (Sunday-Friday)

The ONLY thing is I hate to miss the Flower and Garden Festival, but I've gone the last for the F&G Festival the last two years, so I'm thinking it might be worth the trade off to go end of Feburary if the crowds are light and the weather cooler......... Thoughts?

We went March 15-20, 2006... the weather was GREAT and the crowds did not bother us as we went early and left before the crowds started to build around Noon. We also used Fastpass and did not wait in long lines except for Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot. The crowd level was listed as a 6 and 7 for our days and I think we were lucky with fewer crowds due to the late April Easter this year. I think end of Feb would be fine watch the schedule for "other events" such as ESPN weekends or cheerleading.
