How are the crowds for MSEP?

Since Oct 9 is the last day for MSEP, I was wondering how the crowds have been this week and heading into the final week. I will be there next week and have two MK nights to see it.

8pm parade very packed tonight (IMO). We arrived at MK right at 6 and it appeared that a bunch of people had already staked out their spots. The parade was delayed a little because of rain & lightning which cleared some people out but it was still so crowded DD asked if we could do the parade/wishes another night and go ride rides...which we did.

If the parade has been running it generally means it's one of the later opened nights and the place is packed. The parade hasn't been nightly and then add in the party nights taking some more days away from it running. also the park has started to close right as it gets dark near 8pm and only fireworks happening those nights.

Oct 9th I expect to be crazy (and I will be happily jumping in the crowd to send it off). considering doing one of those follow it the entire route while making a video like many did for PTN at disneyland..

Thanks for the feed back guys! I will be down next week and have two nights reserved for MK, plus my MNSSHP night on 10/6.. I was just looking for how competitive it will be. I don't have to be right on the curb.

I was there last week. I was there on a Wednesday when the park closed at 9 p.m. and only had one parade. I could only find one spot on Main Street to sit down 2 hours prior. It is my all time favorite Disney parade, so I was willing to wait that long. Also, there is nothing like seeing the lights turn off on Main Street which is why I wanted to sit there as well. Good luck!

I was there last night Monday, 10/3 and it was pretty crowded despite a light rain. I was at the first parade. They moved the time up by about 10 min I guess because of rain.

I was at MK this past Saturday, 45th anniversary day with a midnight closing, with 2 parades scheduled. Significant rain started right around 6 and persisted until just before 10, which cleared out a lot of the crowds. The 9:00 parade was cancelled due to rain and lightning in the area. We grabbed a spot on the curb just as you enter the hub at about 9:15 and sat in the rain through 2 Celebrate the Magics and Wishes and thankfully the rain stopped early enough for the 11:00 parade to go as scheduled. I think had we not had such steady rain for nearly 4 hours it would have been a lot more crowded and no way would we have gotten the good viewing spot we ended up with. With all of the Halloween party nights, there's really only about 3 nights a week for the MSEP to run (it does not run during the party), so for its final week I would expect fairly large crowds and plan on seeking a good spot earlier than you may have needed to in the past.
