Thinking about changing my ressies for Thanksgiving week in order to take advantage of FTP. Might pull DD out of school for a week. Is Sept. a good time to go.

Thanks,

September is a good time to go as far as crowds are concerned. We have gone twice in September and the crowds have been next to nothing. Of course, on the downside, with crowds being smaller that time of year, so are the park hours. I remember the Magic Kingdom closing as early as 6:00. So, if you don't mind the earlier closings, it's definitely a good time to go.

In 2000 we went the last week of September and first week of October. It was wonderful! Crowds were lite and weather was perfect!

We were there last September and will be there this September. It was wonderful the crowds were very light.other than a Thunderstorm everyday it was great.

Glad to hear that crowds are low. We plan a long weekend as a follow up to our April vacation and are really looking forward to it. We found in April, which was our first time without our kids, that we could do alot of things in a short amount of time. With it being less crowded in September, we should have plenty of time!!

We have gone in September (when the kids were young and we didn't have to miss school - just kintergarten), August and November. September was by far the best time - it was just pleasant. The parks weren't empty and we still waited in lines but the monorail, buses and restaurants were not crowded. I loved it.

We're going Sept 30-Oct 7 (thank you, FTP!)

SO RELIEVED to hear that the crowds are light and the weather behaves itself! :) :) :)

We were there last year the last weekend of Sept through the first week of Oct. No crowds...most everything a walk on. Of course, parks closed early, but really - we were able to see everything we wanted to. We also pulled the kids out of school (1st and 3rd grade) but won't do that again. It was such a pain to keep up with their packets of homework and they had absolutely no interest in completing them (who would??). Fortunately, they are awesome students and suffered no setbacks academically, but we just won't attempt that again. Also, with the series of testing done now in Texas, it is really frowned upon now because the entire school year is now devoted to preparing for the TAKS tests. UGGHHH.

OK..back on topic. Weather in late Sept couldn't have been more perfect. Warm enought for the pools, but not too hot to be so uncomfortable. Next June for us will be an entirely different story, I'm sure.

To echo everyone else--it's a fine time to go weather-wise and crowds are quite manageable (by Disney standards).
We've gone down in Sept. virtually every year since 1975 (and are going again this Sept. 20) and I have to say that in the early years, it was a lot less crowded in Sept. than it is today. I think more folks have discovered it's a fine time to go.

Soft of reminds me about my drive to work. Used to leave for work at 5:45 AM and beat almost all traffic. That was in the early years. Later, there were traffic snarls at 5:45 as more and more people discoverd it was a fine time to drive to work.
