Total brain cramp... why is this happening???

Ok why are these prices so different. ALL are for POP (standard room), 2 adults, 10 nights, 10 park hopper:

3/4 deal:
July 29- Aug 8 1504.04 with dining 2303.84
Aug 5-Aug 15 1347.44 " " 2147.24
Aug 12-Aug 22 1409.64 " " 2209.64

no 3/4 deal
Aug 19-Aug 29 1540.22 " " 2340.02

I assume the July 29th is different because the rates are different for weekdays and weekends? But Aug 9th starts rate of 82 per night for value season, weekdays and weekends, so why isn't it cheaper to go Aug 12 than 5th?? :confused3 Why is July 29th higher than Aug 5th?

I use the site all the time, booked 10 trips, why is this escaping me LOL?? I know it is right in front of me, so what am I missing?

Good thing I don't bother Dreams with this nonsense of mine :rotfl2:

When I saw this, I decided to go check the site and price as well. I verified your numbers are right -- but I am sure you already knew that!!:)

The first set are higher because the whole stay is in summer season, so the prices are higher. Plus the weekend/weekday thing. Thats the easy one.

The other two have me stumped a bit! In my half awake brain the second option should be more expensive than the third....the 4 nts (Aug 5-8) you are paying for are in high season as opposed to the 3rd option where the entire stay is in value season. My only explanation is that maybe because the 4 you are paying for is in high season, the 3 nts they discount are also calculated at the high season rate? You then pay for the next 3 nts that are value season. If you look at the difference between summer and value season per night it would be about right.

I would also think that the no deal dates should have a bigger difference in cost than the Aug 12-22 dates. I would expect 3 nts times $82 plus tax.

You probably know this already but whatever dates you decide, if not taking the dining plan I would consider 2 reservations, the second one being a room only at a discounted rate (either general public code, AAA something) as the package charges full rack rate for the last 3 nts you are paying for. The "package reservation" could still have 10 day park hoppers.

Sorry I wasn't much help--probably confused the issue even more!!!

I don't know if this is much help but I noticed in the "fine print" for the buy 4 get 3 free deal it said something about not applying to all nights. This may be why your prices are different. Also, when I had originally inquired about this offer I called Disney directly before booking with DU and the agent told me that once all the discounted rooms are sold out for a particular resort you are going to pay rack rate for that resort. So the discrepancies may be in that problem as well. Hope that info helps! Either way I noticed your first days (July 29th - Aug 8th) match ours...we are going July 29 - Aug 5!!

The July 29th was done on the phone and she confirmed I was getting the deal.

I know the deal sells out, when it does, it will tell you online, so I know it fell under the deal. :confused3

I am thinking more toward the Aug 12th date, still deciding... I do love having to decide though- it's fun lol

I just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice day everyone. :)
