How Accurate Are the Disney Wait Time Sites?

i noticed today on the disney wait times app it doesnt have the actual wait times under the posted ones. does anybody know if something is wrong with the site ?

That portion of the data feed could be down - EasyWDW is showing all 0's in that column as well and they both derive their data from the same source.

The data feed has been down since 11pm last night. It's happened before, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

In the meantime, the posted wait matches MDE and it's quicker to load on most devices.

Edit: I'm almost done with another project that is much cooler than wait times. So keep an eye open ;)

Awesome! Looking forward to it! I'll be back to WDW in a few weeks if you need some beta testers.

I can imagine green, yellow, and blue swarms of dots moving through queues faster than the average guest, clogging critical walkways, and I could even add a loud annoying sound... maybe a vuvuzela that would play at random times.

I'll get started on an app

I'm really enjoying testing it at the moment and have an even cooler idea in the pipeline. I'll keep you in mind for both of my projects if I need some beta feedback ;)

Thanks for the super cool app and site!:cheer2:

How come the actuals aren't showing up? Any ETA on when that should be resolved?

My guess is only Disney knows, since that is where the data is sourced from.

I've always been a bit skeptical about that part anyway - the data is derived from the red cards periodically handed to guests in both the SB and the FP lines - so it's not possible to differentiate which "actual" time last sampled is currently being displayed, the SB line or the FP line.

No ETA unfortunately. If Disney has caught word of the site, actual waits may not come back (unless I choose to have user-submitted times, but I don't always trust that).

I may be partial, but I think the site is still beneficial due to posted wait times that match MDE, show times, ride status, and M&G times. All that, plus it's generally quicker for most devices than the MDE app.

I hope we're not "outing" you.

If this change is due to a weekend project that I made, I would be flattered.
Either way, I'm not the only person who has access to this data. The others could be the culprits too, lol.

I hope that things change, but if not, I'm on to cooler things (for the WDW community) that will be launching within the next few days anyways!

cant wait to see what you have coming soon i was thoroughly impressed with the actual wait time lists

Seems with the MagicBands this would be an easy bit of data to compile:

User A is now boarding ride Y. User A first came into proximity of the ride Y queuing area 25 minutes ago. User A did not have a FP+ reservation for ride Y. Add User A Stand By time of 25 minutes for ride Y to current calculation bucket, remove oldest entry. Recalculate average wait time. Charge $thousands for latest data. :)

It's actually a big time bummer that they hid the actual waits before this was implemented. It would, in theory, provide up to the minute data that would be super useful for real-time decision making in the parks.

Instead, we have an inflated "posted" wait time that ensures that we are herded in the right places.
