How accommodating is Floral about non-floral decor?

So I haven't gotten to the point where we have talked to Disney floral, but I was wondering how easy they are to work with if you don't want floral centerpieces and decor? My fiance and I aren't huge fans of tons of flowers, but would prefer more organic things such as wheatgrass and banana leaves.

Does anyone have experience with this?

they will be fine! “floral” is just what the department is called. we did mirror trays with bottles with colored water and tea cups with the odd floating gerbera daisy in them ala alice in wonderland? it’s all done by “floral”. actually, “floral” is kind of everything decor wise - linens, chairs, etc... we specifically requested no/limited floral due to budget and timing concerns (going out of town the next day) and it was no problem!

My daughter just celebrated her DFTW on April 3. Disney Floral was awesome! They worked with all our ideas. We did not have very much floral at all. Here were our centerpieces and WP decor:

The bridal bouquet was the most "floral" we had:

Our centrepieces are oversized martini glasses filled with acrylic ice and glow cubes :) the only floral that floral are providing are some arrangements for the alter at the pavilion which are getting transported to our sweetheart table :)

This is a really useful thread as we're not over keen on masses of flowers either!! We want to use artificial flowers for bouquets etc so that we can use them for the UK Celebration too....

Did Disney Florals have pictures/items to show you to help or did they just source whatever you wanted? Was the cost reasonable?

Anyone else have pictures of not-so-floral florals? :)

We did view a short slideshow of floral options during our planning session. But it was strongly encouraged we bring along our own photos from Etsy,Pinterest, magazines etc. Disney Floral works really well to design close to your sketches or photos.

I know early on in the process, we were quoted $75 per FLORAL centerpiece at the reception tables. We had ours at Ariels so we had to use Disney Floral for this venue. Our actual centerpieces are shown in an above post and they came to $45 each. So going with non fresh floral is less expensive. My daughter's theme was Nemo so aside from saving money this was her vision. We had some sea glass scattered and votives at the table too. They were an extra nominal fee. The couples' sweetheart table was also decorated with a sea/nautical theme. Disney provided a net with shells and starfish and placed a conch shell on the table for $30. It was simple but exactly my daughter's dream. She loved it!

The WP decor was very simple---we staggered them every other row on both sides. Total for this was $25 each or $275. If we had wanted no staggering, then I'm sure it would have been double that. Had we gone with fresh floral it would have been more I am certain (perhaps double).

Again, I'm sure you can find less expensive if you are using a venue that allows outside floral vendors (like the ballrooms). But overall, we found Disney Floral to be reasonable. My daughter's bouquet was $265.

Bottom line is Disney Floral will work with you. They seemed very flexible and eager to please. Have fun with all your planning!

Thank you all so much! MiaSRN62, your pictures are VERY helpful! My fiance is overjoyed that we don't have to have a flower explosion! And that you for the bouquet price, after looking at the Disney Weddings Blog (where they only seem to post the same style of bouquet without a price, it is very useful to have a ballpark idea of what you get for your money.

:cool1:

Agree!! Glad to read/see non-floral and that they are happy to work with you on this :)

If you have a non-floral center piece on the table - are you buying this from Disney floral (and get to keep them) or are you just hiring them? We're having a pretty full on wedding celebration in the UK a month or so after we get back and it would be useful to re-use.... :)

Glad to reciprocate and help out. So many on here helped me when we were planning.
Princess Melanie, they were rented from Disney Floral.
