help!! we were able to book a weekend trip to HH--yea!! now, we are finding flights from houston to hilton head is a challenge. the best choices/fares are on continental to atlanta. but that would require a rental~~not a problem. but i was wondering--Houston area DVC owners--hilton head or otherwise--how do you get there???? thanks!:teleport:

Delta now flies from Atlanta directly to Hilton Head Island. Or you could fly Delta or AirTran from Atlanta to Savannah and rent from there.

The drive from Atlanta really isn't that bad -- just over 4 hours from the airport.

You will most likely want to rent a car when you're there anyhow. There's so much to see on the island and really not much available in the way of public transportation...

Enjoy your weekend!

Try sidestep.com for looking at all available flights and alternate airports. Personally, if I were flying from Houston I wouldn't want to drive all the way from Atlanta. Check out airports at:

Hilton Head (no drive at all)
Savannah (45-60 mins)
Charleston (2 hours)
Jacksonville (2.5 hours)

Columbia is only 2.5 hours as well. Charlotte is 4. and an easy drive. At least it is a pretty drive!

Although don't live near Houston, we always seem to connect in Houston to go to HHI. Every airline we've checked is super expensive. Southwest goes out of Hobby to Jacksonville, but even that's no bargain. It seems that the only way we're going to get away with paying under $500 is to use Continental Frequent Flier "anytime" awards. Otherwise, I agree-the airfare!:scared1:
