Hi all!

I recently applied and got accepted today for the DCP for Fall 2013 for my #1 role -- attractions! I'm about to cry I'm so happy.

HOWEVER...I recently found out that for my major, it's recommended that I attend the SPRING of my junior year, and not the fall, in order to not mess with some course sequences.

If I decline this, will it hurt my chances when I apply again in the fall? I really don't want to screw this up since everything worked out so well. :(

Please please help if possible -- has anyone else been in this position?

I don't know about "deferring" at Disney, but perhaps you can balance your classes so it will work. Would it be possible to take ONE of your sequence courses online in the fall, and then take the 2nd semester of it next spring? You could also take the rest of your elective courses, or take any gen ed classes you have left, in the spring, too. Yes, it'll mean you are sort-of a year behind, but you'd be able to do the CP this fall and still not lose out at school.

My DD has also been accepted for attractions for the fall CP. While entertainment was her first choice, she is super-excited to be in attractions!

The problem is that I go to a small school, and I'm also in their honors college which has it's own "gen ed" sequence. One of the courses for honors is only offered in one section next fall, and I've been told multiple times by the head of honors that I do indeed need to take it next fall in order to be on track to be formally accepted into the teacher education program. :(

Hmmm... could be a dilemma. Have you explained the situation to the honors advisor and asked if there's anything they could do about moving things around? I guess you could talk to Disney about deferring... or maybe you'll like being in the CP so much you could do a second, consecutive program and just take a year's leave of absence! (I actually say that only in joking; school is most important at this stage of your life). Good luck in figuring this out.

It won't be "held"against you if you decline your CP offer, and since you passed the WBI you will go straight to the phone interview when spring CP apps come out in the fall!
