My DH and I may be going to WDW in February. He has a conference, and we will be going out for dinner each night. We will be close to DTD. I noticed that restaurants.com has a $50 voucher for $20 to the House of Blues. We are trying to go as cheaply as possible since we just got back from a trip where we splurged, so I thought this seemed like a good deal. I've never eaten at House of Blues though, so I wanted some opinions on it.

We ate there on our last trip in September and really enjoyed our meal. The food was good, the service was good and we had no issues with using the certificate, they were well trained on the redemption of them. It was catually one of the better meals. I had steak, but don't recall exactly which one anymore. The atmosphere was fun, not too loud even though a concert was going on next door and people were lined up to get in.

 voodoo shrimp

current restaurant.com code GIVE will get you that gc for $4 :woohoo:

I ate there about a year and a half ago because I was at a conference near DTD as well. It is definitely one of those meals, where I though, well this will be okay. Boy, did I underestimate...my colleague and I really enjoyed our meal...great food great service...overall good experience!

Ate there in August and used our gift certificate. Going back in December because we enjoyed it so much.
Had never eaten there before but loved it....good food, service, all around good experience.

There are times when you can get the restaurant.com vouchers for much less.

Just google for a savings code.

I got a myriad of $25 vouchers for two and three dollars each. So no need to buy at price - the savings codes come regularly.

The $25 voucher you only have to spend $35 at House of Blues. And some have posted that they take it during half priced appetizers time at HOB.

Also, restaurant.com has certificates at Shula's, Kimonos, Bluezoo, Il Mulino, Garden Grove (Swan/Dolphin).

They also have many certificates for the immediate area. In fact, two at restaurants at the Downtown Disney hotels. And some in Celebration etc.

Some of the $25 are a minimum of two entrees and some minimum of $35.

Enjoy and have fun,

Lisa

Keep in mind with that gift cert. you need to have a min. purchase of $100.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was looking at the $25, which has a minumum purchase of $35. I'm not sure we would spend $100 since it's just the two of us. Of course, if we spent $100 and used the $50 gc, we would really be only spending $54. And if we spent $75 and used the $25 gc, we would really be spending $52. Hmmm, I guess the question is do we really need the extra $25 worth of food??? :rolleyes1

As Lisa said, the $25 gift certificate is for a minimum purchase of $35 at House of Blues, perfect for two people :)

We used it Oct 26th with no problems. The food was good. We had 3 adults. I loved the 1/2 rack rib dinner.

Looking at allears, it will cost us WAY more than $35! The steak dinners we would be interested in are $25 each. Then if we add an appetizer, salads, drinks, and hey, why not a dessert, we're probably looking at $100.

When we were there last month the server indicated drinks counted against the $$ total too

You're kidding! So they add to the fine print, huh? This was NOT in the description of the exclusions. In fact, I have copied and pasted the minimum requirements and exclusions from the website...

Minimum purchase of $100. 18% Gratuity added prior to discount. Excludes: Holidays/Special Events. Cannot be used for Gospel Brunch.

BTW, Pumbaa, you didn't answer my question about the voodoo shrimp. Can you get it as an entree?

The way it was phrased "drinks count against the total too" makes me think the poster meant drinks count toward the total? But I don't know. I hope she comes back to clarify since y'all got me thinking of that great certificate and a dinner at HOB!

Thanks for all the info.

I bought two of the $50 certificates when there was a 90% off restaurants.com code several weeks back. I know we will need to spend $100 to get the $50 off, but we're a group of 8, so that shouldn't be a problem. We love the one at DTD in Disneyland, so we're excited to try the one at DTD in WDW. :thumbsup2

I thought you could only use one coupon over a period of time per restaurant.

Yeap...it's only one per month per party....and this is tracked when you redeem them. Only way around it is to purchase the two certs using two different accounts on Restaurants.com, using two different credit cards...and split you party into two un-connected partys that will not talk to each other at the restaurant. I'm just guessing on that..really I am. pirate:

By the way....love to food and atmosphere at HOB. Ate there last Aug..and will try to go again in Dec.
