I just got back from WDW Sunday 09/18/11 and ate at House of Blues one day for lunch. I found out three things I didn't know:

1. HoB accepts the TiW card for 20% off, but does not accept a Disney gift card for payment.

2. Starting Dec 5th they will have a new menu. They weren't busy at all and the waitress sat down with me for a few minutes to talk. She then brought me a copy of the new menu. It wasn't really printed out yet and was just some papers clipped together. On top was an article about some Latin chef that came up with the dishes and then on each page was a picture and description of a dish. The new menu looked really good. I told the waitress that I would be back down there Nov 26th-Dec 4th, so would miss the new menu by just a day. She told me to come in and ask if there were any chef specials, because they were going to slowly be introducing the new dishes starting in Nov to get the staff use to doing their speil.

3. Best of all, she said that starting in January, House of Blues would be on the DDP. I asked if she was sure and she said the contract had alreay been signed and they had been warned that business should be picking up. I asked if she knew if any of the other DTD restaurants that normally don't accept the DDP was going to start and she said she did not know, but the employees at HoB had been told that they were. She said the new menu was due to them starting to accept the DDP in January. Some of the items will be smaller, but the menu still looked good. There was an ahi tuna salad that especially looked good.

We're not counting on the DDP thing until it actually happens. There are rumors going around to the effect that next year ALL DTD restaurants will be accepting the dining plan. (Which would leave those of us who try to avoid DDP restaurants with only the Swan and Dolphin). If it's true...look for all of them to have new menus.

HoB also accepts the Disney Rewards card (for those who have the WDW Chase Visa card). Or at least it did last Nov/Dec. 2010.

Rain Forest & Ghiradelli accepted it too.
