House Guests...

What do you do to make them feel "at home"? Anything special?

Depends on who it is.
If it is family that I really like aor friends I make sure I have all the favs. in the house.

I always try to give my houseguests their own room/space etc.
I put out little travel sized soaps, shampoos, etc. in the bathroom, make sure there are fresh towels out and usually fresh cut flowers in the bathroom and room where they are staying. I put out magazines and if they have kids, age appropriate toys and books in the room too.
I like to have homemade muffins or breakfast breads or the like for breakfast as well.
I like to put out snacks and drinks and keep them out and handy so no one needs to feel like they have to ask for anything, they are already available.

....and keep a smile, no matter what!

Baskets with nice soaps and toiletries in the guest bath. Fresh linen, of course. Have a vase of flowers in the bedroom. The night stand has a lamp and a couple of books. There's an alarm clock on the dresser. Extra pillows and blankets in the closet. I usually leave chocolates on the pillow. Also, check the batteries in the tv remote.

Umm, I have a 1-bedroom apartment...at least I make sure the bathroom is super clean, and I have clean sheets, towels, etc. I let my mom and pregnant friends sleep on the floor!

My mom always puts chocolates on our pillows when we visit as well.

oops! I guess I know what to do now!

When my brother and his family visit, I just ask ahead of time what they like to eat for breakfast, so I can make sure I have breakfast stuff for them. Yeah, I know about the clean linens and towels.
