For those of you who have done this, what is the process for returning Q&C's? Was it easy? or a hassle? Pls share your experience.

Last year, I had to return some vouchers with Connections. I did send them using certified mail. Had no problems, the refund showed up as a credit on my credit card fairly quickly.

I just (Monday) returned 10 Breakfast Feature vouchers to Hotwire. I'll let you know how it goes. They expired in May 2004. My trip isn't til June. However, the Q&C vouchers did have a May 2005 expiration.

Forgive my ignorance--what are Q&Cs & vouchers? I've seen them mentioned several times, but I haven't been able to figure out what they are. (I checked the abbreviation list, but it's not on there.)
I remember from a previous trip some sort of meal plan you could add to a package--is that what it is, or is it something separate?

Q&C vouchers = Quick & Casual Lunch/Dinner Vouchers

They can be purchased thru buying clubs like Connections123, SimpleEscapes or Hotwire SavingsClub. They cost about $11.50 each and can be redeemed at select WDW restaurants for an entrée, side dish, beverage and dessert. The voucher not only covers the food but any tax and gratuity associated with it. Often the price of the meal exceeds the cost of the vouchers, making them a good value in some situations.

mad4themouse--you are absolutely the best! If I were going to be in WDW when you are, I would find you & hug you! :hyper:

Sounds like another great deal. Is there a fee to join the clubs? You can return the vouchers if you don't use them?!

This is too much. I thought I was doing such a good job by reading Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide, but DIS is amazing! I can't believe how much money I'm going to save. I just can't say "Thank You" enough. (Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!)

edit--I just found the thread called "Everything You Wanted to Know About Connections Meal Vouchers". Guess I should read it. (blushing) I don't know how I missed it.

A really big THANK YOU to mad4themouse for giving me a polite answer instead of saying "Read the board you crazy newbie!"
I'm just getting SO excited & there's SO much to read! I'm having trouble concentrating. :bounce: :hyper: :bounce:

Trying to figure out....

Example:

If I joined today, March 4th, for a free 30 days trial membership, I would have to cancel my membership before April 4th in order to avoid membership fee.

But my trip is April 3-10th and I probably won't be home until April 11th pm. So if I were to cancel my membership to avoid membership fee, I would have to do that before I left.

BUT..... THEN.....if at the end of my trip I still had Q&C's left that I wanted to return, I wouldn't be able to return them if my membership was cancelled???!! Right?

SO....does that mean that I have to make a choice to either pay the monthly membership so that I can return any vouchers...OR cancel membership to avoid membership fee and try to get rid of vouchers another way???

(The only way I see around the above is to join AFTER March 11th which would give me enough time to do both...???? And then HOPE that I get Vouchers in time before I leave. What am I missing?????)

Can you RE-JOIN once you cancel?

Pls help me here....thanks

Just join after March 11th. The vouchers are normally sent through an express mail service and received in a couple of days. In addition to returning any unused vouchers, you also have the option of selling them on eBay or through the DisAuctions.

Imelda in TX

- did you return your breakfast vouchers to Hotwire OK? (were you still a member?)

I returned Q&C and VKL vouchers to Hotwire Savings Club with no problem - just follwed the instructions that were included when they arrived. They must be sent back certified mail so there was a small expense there but I just thought it was much easier than ttrying to sell them some other way. Good luck

Hotwire is kind of a good deal if you shop at Target, eat at Outback, etc. We kept our membership for a few months even though we originally intended to cancel within 30 days. They will let you cancel anytime but if you have rewards coming to you you may want to wait until you get them to cancel.

curious...

How do you accumulate rewards with Hotwire? What do they give you when you accumulate rewards...discount coupons?

By the way, we joined Hotwire and ordered vouchers. We were told that even if you cancel, you can return the meal vouchers.

What are the deals they give you on Hotwire for Target? Are they discounted gift cards?

They're $25 giftcards for which they charge you $25.

They then rebate your credit card in the amount of $5. The rebate is supoosed to occur within a month of the order. You must be an active member of the program to receive your rebate.

You are limited to 15 cards/retailer/membership year.

Yes, I am still a member. I just joined on February 20. I am awaiting the refund, however, I have not yet received the certified mail postcard.

I also had to return my Breakfast vouchers (had the May 04 date). I still havn't rec'd the return card that they were rec'd.

I had called Connections about returning Q & C vouchers. I was told I had to return them within 3 months of purchasing them or I was not allowed to return them at all. I ended up selling them on eBay. Lost money on that one!! ::yes::

I'm surprised, usually people make money on them when selling them on eBay.
