Hello. I am new here. We have a trip to Disneyworld in Florida planned. But we are also thinking about going to Disneyland in the next year or so. I thought hotels would be a good place to start.

What on-site and what off-site hotels do people here recommend and why?

Thank you in advance.

I would recommend the Disneyland Hotel & the Paradise Pier. The Disneyland one being our favorite.

It seems that a lot of people really like the HOJO because of the pirates' water park & suites.

Enjoy going to WDW, we were there for 11 nigths in february at the POP hotel and had a blast......:wizard:

We're still tired!

I looked at HOJO but I don't know if that's for us. I don't need a "water park" or a suite. It's just me and my husband. No kids.

We're probably staying at Pop Century resort. I haven't booked yet though. But I think I want to go value this time. I've never stayed there before though.

We stayed at the Pop because we had a grand gathering event and my brother was the one in charge of choosing a hotel.

It was really nice, clean, very themed for kids. I would recommend getting a room close by the food court / lobby. Otherwise it might be quite a walk.

Since it is only you & your hubby you might want to check into other hotels right now (moderate - villas), I was just looking at rates the other day and you can actually book a studio at Saratoga Springs for like $150 + taxes! :wizard:

I personally think the advantages of a walking distance hotel outweigh just about anything at DLR. :)

We stayed at the HoJo last year and really liked it. As it turned out we went when the pool area was being renovated and I was disappointed because it was on the main reasons we wanted to stay there. I contacted the hotel and they were fantastic, and we got upgraded to a Disneyland view room, as well as the other family we were travelling with. That said, I just booked the hotel for our upcoming trip in February and decided on the Best Western Park Place Inn because it's directly across the street from the entrance to DL. The HoJo isn't that far down Harbor Blvd, but at the end of a long day with a child it can seem that way, and I'm going for convenience.

We stayed moderate last time. We want to take a cheaper trip this time. $82 for an onsite place is pretty darn good. And we actually like to be far away from pools and lobbies. I'm all about the quieter rooms.

Still unsure about where to stay at DL (if we're able to go.) We have tons of time to choose though. I just love planning.
