Hi all!!!! Going to WDW in Sept and looking for everyones input on where to stay. Onsite/Offsite. First timers. If onsite hoping to not break the bank, and off site, want to make sure transportation is provided. A place with a fridge and compliment breakfast are also wanted. Any suggestions would be great. Does the search button work??????

what's the range for breaking the bank?

the cheapest options will always be offsite.

most onsite options won't have complimentary breakfast that i'm aware of...but the onsite DVC studio rooms do have a small fridge and can be rented for a fairly reasonable price in sept.

the search button should work...be sure to scan through some threads on the disney resorts forum and orlando resorts forum...

:welcome:

Search is currently disabled while the servers are being worked on so I don't think it is working.

You can look around on the Onsite and Offsite Resort boards for informaiton and post there looking for recommendations.

Disney Resorts (for discussion of on-site resorts): http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12

Orlando Hotels: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15

You might also take a look at our DVC boards to see if the option of renting points might appeal to you: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=7

You wouldn't get a complimentary breakfast, but I'd go POP -- no question. We stayed there in 2005 & are returning in June. It's just plain FUN! You can rent a fridge or do the fridge swap through the disboards (which I haven't done, but am considering for our trip). POP makes the trip much more reasonable IMO...

how many people? Port Orleans - Riverside was a very nice place to stay and the room can accomodate up to 5, using a trundle bed.

Also, while it sometimes is important to get the ressie you want in and secure, keep checking these boards and Disney's own ads. i suspect that come April there may be an announcement of Disney offering Free Dining, which would negate your complientary breakfast in a big way. (if you are planning on staying onsite, then go ahead and book a ressie, then if Free Dining is announced, call back and switch - but be aware, you can only use 1 discount at a time, so AAA or a room discount cannot be used with this promo).

Once we stayed onsite we swore we would never stay off site again!!! So my vote is to stay @ DISNEY!!! Why leave the magic?
As far as money goes...we have stayed at all three levels and loved all three. Not knowing anything about your party, I can't really say one place over another but would be happy to help make suggestions if you give me a heads up!!
If you just like an in general...I second POP as a great value resort! You can stay at a value resort for roughly $100 a night (depending on when you go in Sept.)...and the last few years they have offered free dining around that time frame...that would have to help in the "bank" area!
POR is a great Mod resort, and you can stay for roughly $130 or so a night I believe.
There are discounts to be had...are you a AAA member? If so call your AAA TA and get a quote!

Best of luck with your planning!!!

For an off-site hotel, I highly recommend Comfort Suites Maingate East. We got a good deal for this hotel online (we paid about $75 per night). Some of the other DISers have said that they were able to get an even better deal for this hotel (it probably depends on when you go, though). It's pretty close to WDW (about a 10-15 minute drive), which was really nice. They offer a free breakfast (eggs, waffles, cereal, pastries, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meat, etc.) and the rooms come with a small refrigerator, a microwave and a small "kitchen" sink. The room was quite spacious and the beds were clean and comfortable. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and fast food places nearby, too. Right next to the hotel is a place called Old Town, which has a ferris wheel, go-carts and other carnival-type rides. My family and I wanted to check it out, but we didn't have time. Sorry to go on and on, but my family and I really liked this place! If you're interested in staying here and have any other questions, let me know! :thumbsup2

Thanks to everyone for the info. WOW. Been to Disneyland 5 times and feel like a pro there. But WDW, I feel lost. Havent decided what time in Sept yet, but there is 3 of us going. I will keep looking for more info. if any one sees any great deals, please post. THANK YOU ALL.
