Hotels with good breakfast

Has anyone stayed in a Disneyland area hotel that has a good breakfast? Our favorite chain hotel when traveling is the LaQuinta where you get to make your own waffles. We are going in September so I think the park will be own later. A good breakfast would be the perfect start to the day.

I have reservations at the HOJO's and we are driving, so we can always stop and pick up breakfast items to eat in the room, but I thought I would check rates if there are any good breakfast hotels in the area.

We enjoyed the breakfast at Embassy Suites south. I think it is actually in Garden Grove, but it's not really all that far away. The breakfast was a full one, not just continental.

This was the best breakfast that I have had out of all the Embassy Suites that I have stayed. Wonderful food.

Here's another vote for the Embassy Suites South. We were there Sept. 05 and really enjoyed the breakfasts (not to mention the Manager's Reception in the evening! ) It is a quick ART trip to DL. Worked fine for us. This time we are staying at the Park Vue just because we have less time at DL and want to maximize our time there by being able to walk across the street. But, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Embassy Suites South again!

My family loves Residence Inn. We've stayed there 3 times in the last couple of years. Great breakfast (and yes, you can make your own waffles). There are 2 RI near DL, we've always stayed at the Garden Grove location. The main drawback is that it's not walking distance if that's important to you.

I second Residence Inn. We always stay at the one on Clementine (there's a La Quinta next door)... and LOVE the breakfast! Great thing I just found out about Residence Inn (marriott hotels) is that if you find a better rate then they have on their website... they'll give you that better rate PLUS 25% off (I got my $179/night suite in August, down to $119/night because of their guarantee )

Since you already have reservations at HoJo's ... the Mimi's Cafe that is located right next door is inexpensive and is better than any breakfast offered at a hotel.

We usually go there right around 7am when they open -- and it's never crowded. And we've had lunch and dinner there as well and all were outstanding.

And if you've stayed at HoJo's before ... you know that they have a well-stocked convenience store with reasonable prices for snacks in your room.

So in my opinion ... no need to look elsewhere!

The Embassy Suites has the best free breakfast anywhere, in any town, at least in our experience and we are travellers! But my second choice would be Candy Cane Inn. They don't even have anything cooked to order or meats or eggs (other than hard boiled), but you can take stuff back to your room and they do offer a lot . I don't know what it is about them, but they just leave warm fuzzies after staying there.

What did you use to compare?

Jack, I used expedia.com to compare the price. I submitted the required claim form, online, to Marriott (along with a screenshot of the room rate). Less than four hours later I had an emailed saying my claim had been accepted and listed my new rate.

They listed expedia, travelocity and hotels.com all websites that they will accept and honor for their guarantee.

I believe I read from your others post around here that you tend to travel to DL in August... so I hope this helps you !
