Does anyone know of hotels or resorts that have kitchens/kitchenettes. I would like to take some friends down December 2006. It will be a lot cheaper for everyone if we can make our own meals. :flower:

The FW cabins have full kitchens & daily maid service.

Any of the DVC villas will have the kitchenette (studio) or a full sized kitchen & washer/drier ( 1br & up) Check over on the DVC boards for more info about the villas.

Hi there. We are going in 4 weeks and staying at Old Key West. One of the Disney vacation club resorts. I have never stayed there, this will be my first time...but I have checked out tons and tons of pictures and have several friends who have stayed there. There are different types of room available...studios have just the kitchenette. But there are 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and villas all of which have a full kitchen. We will be in a 2 bedroom and also plan a=on having some of the meals in. We rented points from a DVC member and actually got a great deal!!!!! You can do that on this site! It may be worth checking into for you! Have fun!!

My family are DVC members, our "home" is Old Key West. I have a tendency to stay there to save money on food as well. Some of the villas are getting a little old, but it's still gorgeous and very economical food wise. Bus stops are within easy walking distance and they have great pools and food. The kitchens are very large, and sometimes I think more spacious than our kitchen at home. Hope this helped.

We have stayed in Fort Wilderness Homes, Old Key West and the Beach Club Villas. All have full kitchens, as well as daily maid service. The Villas also have a full washer and dryer in the unit. I would recommend any of the above, each for a different reason.
The Cabins are remote and rustic, and also less expensive. A drawback to the Cabins is they are more remote than the other sites, and transportation is a bit more difficult. I would recommend a rental car for getting anywhere other than the MK. But it is beautiful, quiet, lots of room and many (free) things for young ones to do at the campground. We loved it there.
Old Key West has the largest rooms on Disney property. The are great for a group. We had a 2 bedroom Villa for our extended family, and we loved it. It has a Key West theme, and the grounds are beautiful. In my opinion the bus transportation was efficient and good. Old Key West is also the only property where you can park right outside your Villa if you have a car.
The Beach Club Villas are our favorite, primarly for their location - right in the Epcot area. Our kids are adults now, and we tend to spend a lot of time in Epcot. These Villas are within walking distance Epcot, and also MGM.
All of these sites have full kitchens (Villa studios are kitchettes, with a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker) The kitchens are fully equipped and you can easily cook a meal and save some money. We also loved having cold drinks and snacks available during the day.
With the washer and dryer in the Villas, I pack less and do laundry during the week.
If you have any questions let me know.

As posted above all teh DVC properties have atleast a kitchenette in them that being the studios. The 1 bedroom and up have a full kitchen with dishwasher and DVD players in eh livingroom with the tv. They have a washer and dryer for your laundry thus meaning you pack less and just toss the stuff in there one night and then in the dryer. The 1 bedroom and up also have a jacuzzi tub the largest tubs being at Old Key West. You can't go wrong when you choose a DVC property and if you reserve via CRO on cash you will get daily maid service but if you rent points from a member you will get a trash and towel day once during the week. If you stay longer than a week you will get a full cleaning during that time but you also get a better deal than cash and you pay no tax on the room.

Offsite, Residence Inns, Extended Stay America, Homewood Suites, and just about any hotel with "suite" in its name should have a kitchenette. But, you should check because "suite" to some means a microwave and small refridgerator.

Thanks for all of your help. I'll try talking to my friend when she is done with her night school. That'll be this December. She's getting remarried in Oct. 2006. Maybe I can talk her into going to WDW for Dec. 2006. Kind of like a honeymoon/vacation.
