Hotels/Priceline question

I read on this thread not too long ago about someone who was charged a service charge or some kind of charge when they arrived at the hotel (can't recall which one) that they got through Priceline.

Is this standard for every hotel booked through Priceline or just a handful? And if so, anyone know what this charge is for exactly?

TIA!

(FWIW, I'm staying at the La Quinta Inn & Suites at the Airport North (NOT the nasty one I "hear" so much about!)...

This is most common at the resort hotels by WDW rather than the ones at the airport. They sock you with fees that can be as much as $8 per day!!! They do this whether or not you are a Priceline customer, and Priceline has a warning about it in the small print. You can argue, but you'll rarely win. It's know as a "resort fee," which is apparently hotel-speak for "Rip off da tourist." I think the two we've run into this at were the Gaylord and the Marriott World Center. I don't think it was charged at the Downtown Disney Hyatt or Hilton.

We always get hit with resort fees when we get Holiday Inns in Orlando. I believe it's $3.95. It's not a big deal for us, because we only stay one night, but it is kind of irritating.
