Hotels & parking @ gatwick

Hi all - we have booked to stay in the travel lodge @ gatwick - and had planned on catching the train...from Plymouth, change @ reading etc...YUK!! Really don't want to do this!

So......can anyone suggest a hotel that you can stay parked at? Or do you have to pay the hefty fees of Gatwickk parking?? would love your thoughts on this. Thanks!

we stayed at the le meriden dec 03, parking was included in the package(think it was 15 days or something) anyway the car park was about a 5 min bus journey away and was quite easy really because it was all zonned and it was secure, the buses were regular, but u did have to stop off at the hotel first for the pass to the car park. The hotel was lovely and attached to the north terminal (think virgin used to have their desks in the north then) anyway would recommend it!

We always stay at the Gatwick Hilton. We book through ABC Holiday Extras and get a nights stay in a family room and 15 days parking included. Cost is somewhere around £150, which isn't too bad considering the price of long term secure parking at the airport and the rack rate of the room!

The Hilton is right next to the south terminal with a covered walkway leading from the hotel right into the terminal

We always sty at holiday in express with parking at the summer special. We book through holidayextras.com (or it could be .co.uk).

We too always stay at the Gatwick Hilton, so handy for the airport and you get the 15 nights parking. We drive up from Newton Abbot and you get the buzz of seeing all the planes taking off, gets you right in the holiday mood. There is also a pool, gym etc in the hotel. We ate at the american diner also in the hotel which was excellent food. We booked the hotel with First choice when we booked the holiday and paid £115.00 for a family room

Thanks Guys - cancelled the travel lodge and have booked in @ the Holiday Inn with valet parking!!! How cool.....they take your car to a secure compound and pick then they take your car to arrivals when you get back.....you toddle over to a car hire section and they bring your car around!....1 nights stay and 15 days parking....£129!

Phew - feel tons better about not hvaing the hassle of the trains......mind you, I will be doing the driving so will have the joys of the M23...ho hum
