Hotels near Vancouver cruise terminal

Debbie, I'm keeping an eye out for the Pan Pacific for our August 25th cruise.

I'm seeing this 5 star on hotwire at the moment... does this match what you saw when you booked the Pan-Pacific?

Vancouver Downtown, Coal Harbor, Stanley Park area. Pet friendly, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self service laundry, internet access, spa services.

Trip advisor 4.5/5, Hotwire reviews 85% positive with 318 total reviews.

(It's showing $166US per night for the 23rd and 24th).
Just like jetskigirl just above. No indoor pool, so that was the tip off....well, that and the note that the last person had gotten Pan Pacific! ;) I was okay with whatever I got, but sooooo excited that it was the Pan Pacific. And looking at the reviews....even MORE excited. :thumbsup2 Good luck! Let us know how it goes! [oh, and I think it WAS 166 before I was directed to the Canadian site.]

Thanks Jetski and Debbie, I successfully booked the Pan Pacific for $168/night (before taxes). Hotwire also offers a $25 coupon for your first booking with their mobile app, which I was able to use.

Now I just need a decent price on airfare for MSP to Vancouver......

I would do this but how can you tell from your post above that it's definitely the Pan Pacific and not the Four Seasons. I only want the PP. Also is the PP in the 'downtown area' ?

After clicking "book now" but before you actually pay, compare all of the hotel details to what's listed in Jetskigrl and my posts. In my case, it matched 100% to Jetskigrl's hotel details, except the number of reviews had increased just a little bit (which makes sense).

From other posts, it sounds like INDOOR POOL is specific to the Four Seasons, so that's a red flag... don't book if it lists INDOOR POOL.

Finally, even with all of that info, I was only 95% confident I'd get the Pan Pacific. If you're not comfortable with a little bit of risk, then I'd say Hotwire booking isn't for you.

Woo Hoo again!!!! :cool1: :cool1: Congrats!! I'm so glad that it worked out for you!

Yes, this exactly!!! Use the list that I posted to compare what is on the second page. When you first do a search in Vancouver on Hotwire it will list a lot of hotels. Use the star ratings to narrow it down to only 5 star hotels. Only one will show up in the list now. Click on that one to bring up the second page where it shows the amenities. Compare that list to the one that I posted (I think it is on the page before this one). If it is exactly that same with just the number of reviewers increasing, chances are it is the Pan. If the Pool Amenity lists "Indoor pool" then it is probably the Four Seasons.

In the past few months, those are the only two that I have heard show up but you do need to remember that they can add new hotels at any time (but the amenity lists will most likely be a little different).

Right now I just checked it for August 9-11, 2014 for 2 people and even though it shows the last person got the Pan, it lists "Indoor Pool" and "95% recommended for Hotwire" under Amenities so I think it is the Four Seasons. Also, when it is the Four Seasons, it lists "Accessible for the blind" which doesn't show up when it is for the Pan Pacific.

But, in the worst case, even if you don't get the Pan, you will still receive a 5-star hotel for a really great price :goodvibes

But it is always a risk with Hotwire, so you just have to keep that in mind before you hit the "book" button. Best of luck!!

Ok I got it. I really want the Pan Pacific because it's so close to the ship.

How far is the FS in walking distance to the ship?

No kidding! I'm in Canada, but the flights are outrageous. And the 'summer deals' haven't started yet. Fingers crossed that I can get at least 15% off.
IAlso is the PP in the 'downtown area' ?
Vancouver Downtown - Coal Harbour - Stanley Park

Unless there is more than one in that area, the address is:
791 West Georgia Street, Vancouver

Google Maps shows it as .4 miles (about a 10 minutes walk). It is a straight shot to the port but may not be fun with luggage.

Just keep checking Hotwire for a bit and you will probably be able to see the difference. The dates I checked earlier that came up as Four Seasons is now showing the amenity set for the Pan Pacific again. So it changes pretty quickly.

Best of luck!! I've got my fingers crossed for you :thumbsup2

Ok just have to make sure it doesn't say Indoor Pool, etc. Got it. Thanks!

Right now the 5 star is saying "accessible to the deaf". Is that the FS or the PP?

Both have "accessible to the deaf" listed under amenities. But if "accessible to the blind" is also listed then it is probably FS. That does not show on the list for PP.

The Four Seasons is a downhill walk to the terminal of about 4 blocks. Very walkable (Downtown Vancouver in general is very walkable), even with luggage.

If you are really lazy/lots of bags, there is a skytrain station that will take you there right around the corner from the hotel too (Granville station).

Quick point of reference: I work a block away from the FS.

Those of you who live in Vancouver I have a question for you please. How is Aerocar service. We were looking at getting a limo from airport to our hotel precruise. They told me the are readily available at the airport. If they are not recommended any other limo services that are good. We are a family of 7 and want to ride together. I am nervous about sky train with luggage and small kids. Thanks so much.

Got it. I have 2 mos until PIF. I will book at that time. I should have this dune by then. :)

Fine. I've used them before (Taxi line was crazy and we had 4 people, so we did a limo), and they are the only limo/towncar provider from the airport.

Benefit of them is that even if there is a long taxi wait (which can sometimes happen) that the limo/towncar wait is often non-existant. Plus if you would need a minivan taxi, why not do a limo. less time to wait.
Very comfy too.

Also, flat rate to downtown/cruise terminal, so no mileage costs.

Downside: costs about 1.5x what a cab does (on average). So a ~$36 cab ride would be $55 for a sedan.

Pickups are right outside the International arrivals area at the airport.

Thanks so much. I am happy to hear the limo should work for us.

Definitely. I flew back from LA with my wife and 2 friends, but the taxi line was a 40 min wait for a van (25 for a taxi) due to a number of flights that had come in at the same time.

So instead we hopped a limo. No wait. Was well worth the extra couple bucks, and the flat rate meant we didn't have to worry when traffic was cruddy.

Has anybody used Hotwire to book 2 rooms and successfully get the Pan Pacific? I'd be curious to know if there were any issues with multiple room bookings and getting the PP. We're a party of 7 so it seems that trying to get 2 rooms at the PP may be the best options instead of trying to find a large enough suite to hold all of us. Plus at those HW rates, you can't beat that for the location and quality of hotel.
