Hotels in Vancouver

We stayed at the Pan Pacific. It is at the cruise terminal, which itself is in a great hop on/hop off location for tours and such. Would stay there again if we do another cruise from there

A lot will matter on your budget, in 2022 for our cruise we stated at the Fairmont Waterfront which is right across the street from the cruise terminal. We were able to see the cruise ships docked from our room. If we ever do another Alaskan cruise, we will stay there again.

The only downside was the cost as it is in the upper price range, the same with the Pan Pacific which in the cruise terminal building, but the convivence of being right there at the terminal was nice.

As you push out further from the cruise terminal the room prices do start to drop. After the cruise, we stayed at a hotel closer to the airport, which was about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of the Fairmont per night.

We stayed at Delta Hotels by Marriott. It wasn't cheap, but it was less expensive than staying right at the port.

It was just a few blocks away from the port and train station. We took the train from the airport and it was really convenient. We walked from the train, and we also walked to the port on embarkation day.

The suite we had was very nice with separate hallways and doors for the bedroom, bathroom, and sitting area.

Where do you stay when cruising out of Vancouver? Give benefits/perks please.
Last cruise we stayed at Delta Hotel. A couple of blocks from Canada Place, across the street from Vancouver Lookout tower.

Benefit - walking distance to port.

We also stayed at Delta last time. It wasn't cheap, but it was much cheaper than Pan Pacific and the rooms were very nice.

I'll be staying at the Fairmont Waterfront this time. It's across the street from the port (has a walking path) and it looked better than Pan Pacific and it was less expensive than Pan Pacific. I watched videos of both places to help me decide.

Previously, I stayed at Hampton in the downtown area. It was great for public transportation around town. It had a paid shuttle to the port.

We stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront and loved the convenience of being right across from the port so we could watch the ships come in, get on the free bus to Capilano Suspension Bridge park and we walked to Stanley Park and Gastown. We took a train from the airport to get there and back. On another trip, we stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport because we weren't going on a cruise - we spent a week on Vancouver Island that year. We loved both. We are going again this summer and staying at the Fairmont at the airport this time because we were able to get a concierge suite for less than the standard room we had at the Fairmont Waterfront. It's a distance from the port, but we've already used the train, so it will be easy for us to travel back and forth during our pre-cruise stay, plus we get the added bonus of eating in the lounge at the hotel.

We stayed at the pan pacific. There are others very close by and equally as nice (eg the Fairmont) but the one benefit the pan pacific had was they will transport your luggage from your room to the ship. Our party included some members with mobility issues and babies in strollers so this benefit tipped the scales for us.

Edit: we had to stay another night on the back end because flying to the east coast and we stayed at the Fairmont at the airport. That was also really nice. Great indoor pool that the kids loved.

We stayed at AZUR Legacy Collection last May. Walking distance to the port. Sign up for a free Leader's Club membership and get breakfast for 2 people per room (this was coffee and an entree at the lobby restaurant - which was quite good). Rooms have little luxuries like heated tile floors. We also had the Pan Pacific booked and we canceled that to keep AZUR. No regrets, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
