I need advice. Usually when I go to Orlando my family and I rent a condo for the nights we're there. Which is the best hotel without going broke?

I guess it depends on what you're looking for and how much time you intend to spend in the room vs. the parks. Personally for a honeymoon I would go with a deluxe to have a balcony. For the Disney portion of our honeymoon, DH and I really enjoyed having in-room breakfast on our balcony and sitting out there with a glass of wine in the evening. You don't get a balcony at a value or, I think, a moderate. But if you don't care about that sort to thing I think a moderate is a great choice. The rooms are larger than at a value and they have sit-down restaurants so you can have a nice meal without even leaving your resort property. CBR is really nice, but I'm biased because that was the first Disney resort DH and I stayed at back when we were first dating  I'm staying at a value for the first time for our girl's weekend this spring so I really can't comment on them but I've heard many positive reviews of Pop.

Best wishes on your wedding :goodvibes

Ihave never stayed at Pop, so I don't know about that resrt. But when DF and I were dating, our first stay was at all 3 of the All Star's (not because we wanted to!!! something was wrong with our rooms that couldn't be fixed, i.e the air conditioning didn't work, etc.) and I hated them. They are not romantic at all, so I don't know how comfortable you would feel staying at that type of resort for your honeymoon.

A moderate is a good choice. CBR is nice and has a tropical feel without splurging for the Poly. And the restaurants are good too. And I also like POFQ - it is the smallest of the moderates, so it has a very intimate feel. And I love the Mardi Gras atmosphere. Whatever you choose, I am sure you will have a great time. After all, it is your honeymoon!!

We've stayed at CBR several times and had wonderful experiences! We also have stayed at Pop, and it's "okay"... just okay. Our upcoming trip will be at Pop, not because it's where we would prefer to stay, but because after Hurricane Katrina swooped in and affected us, and our daughter got married, we just don't have the funds to stay anywhere else if we want to go to Disney for our anniversary! If cost is a major factor to you, Pop is your place. Likewise, if all you do at the resort is sleep, and you plan to be in the parks most of the time, it's a good choice. IMO, it's the best of the value resorts. However, for a honeymoon, I can't imagine you would be spending minimal time in the room, and the rooms at Pop just wouldn't feel like a honeymoon to me. If you can go a little higher, you can't go wrong with CBR or even Coronado. I've heard very good things about it too. That's where my brother will be staying when we renew our vows in December. HTH! ~Ev

I've stayed at Port Orleans once, All Star Music twice, and All Star Sports once. If you want the best value for the money, I'd say go with the All Star resorts. They certainly aren't as 'nice' as the others, but if you spend a lot of time outside the room, they work perfectly. Keep in mind though, that they are probably not "romantic" resorts, so if you stay there, request a room that may be farther away from the main building (i.e. the bigger pool) to keep the noise level down. Port Orleans (French Quarter) was also wonderful simply because of the large pool, and I love the feeling of being in New Orleans. :) It can also be a bit more romantic, and it's right near Downtown Disney for shopping and fun restaurants.

Port Orleans FQ is our top choice! I'm almost certain on that specific one.

Port Orleans Riverside is very romantic... beautiful atmosphere and considered a moderate (although I think it could have easily been considered a deluxe.) I got engaged here on a carriage ride that took us on a ride next to the river and stopped in front of a beautiful water fountain.

Boardwalk is a great choice too... we're staying there for our honeymoon - only because it was a gift from my parents (DVC members)... otherwise, we'd be back at PO-R.

I have to also put in a vote for moderates, but my favorite is Coronado Springs. Its big but absolutly beautiful, all spanish-styled, very laid back and it is the only moderate to have a full service spa.

Dont be scared off by the conventioneers either, I have never seen them when I visited in the past.

I REALLY like the WL. It's a romantic resort with fantastic theming and is the cheapest (along with AKL) of the deluxes.

If you have an annual pass (AP) you might be able to get rooms at an even cheaper rate. Sometimes the room-rate savings is MORE than the cost of the AP and justifies buying at least one.

Good luck and CONGRATS on the wedding and honeymoon!

I have another vote for Coronado Springs!!! We have stayed at all of the moderates and it is by far my fav -- I just love the atmosphere, lake and ammenities!! We are staying there for our honeymoon in December, it will be our 3rd time staying there! We LOVE Coronado!! Disney has so many wonderful resorts -- I haven't stayed at any value but I really don't think you could go wrong with any of the moderates or Deluxe!! Good Luck finding the resort that "fits" you!!!

I have heard that Coronado springs and port orleans are very nice.
We have stayed at the caribbean beach and though that was nice, that would be my choice.
I just got married at the yacht club lasy week, and stayed there. That was luxury.
We went off to St Petes for a week following the wedding but returned to disney for our last night in the US. We stayed at Pop century.
I am not sure if I was comparing too much to the yacht club, but it was pretty dreary.
Very basic, the room had a strange smell, the bed linen had holes in, and there were kids running up and down the corridors at 1am. Not good when you have had a tiring day in the parks.
My choice would be CBR or other similar moderate resorts.

We have stayed at CBR and All star sports. In my opinion, there is quite a difference between the moderates and the values. Moderates are not that much more expensive, so if you are looking for something a little nicer without spending a lot of money, I think a moderate resort would be nice! Don't get me wrong, the values would be perfect, but its all about your personal preference! I really enjoyed CBR, the view from our room was beautiful! The only thing I have against it are the amount of bus stops. good Luck choosing, you will have a great time either way :)
