I'm looking at a May trip and will be staying offsite.
I've decided to try to stay in the Harbor Boulevard intersection area.
I'm going solo and even though I'm pretty unconcerned with walking at night and pretty safety conscious I know it can be an issue.
I will have no car.
I would prefer to walk than pay for shuttle or taxi. (or be bound by a shuttle schedule)
I have some allergies so I need a microwave/fridge/coffee pot more than a free breakfast where I will only be able to have bacon, apples/banana and peanut butter (based on other mid rage hotel breakfasts).
I will not be swimming and could not care less about in hotel dining.
Since this will be offsite I would prefer an interior hall but if it's a decent hotel with good security then outside access will not be a deal breaker.
I'd like to stick to the $100 to $120 range but would consider $150.
The best reviews I have seen that seem to be the best fit (well except for interior halls) are Best Western Park Place and Park Vue.
Does anyone have any great experiences at any of the other HB intersection hotels? Are these two the best of the bunch? Is there any thing in this area with an interior hallway?

That being said, I personally feel it's worth the price. It's right across the street from the pedestrian entrance, the rooms are big, the beds are super-comfy, the towels are large and fluffy, the breakfast is worth at least $7-8 (probably even more--it's better than the IHOP in the Park Vue parking lot, LOL), and it's a 3-minute walk to the security tents! They have gone above and beyond to make sure we were well-taken care of, from an amazing hot breakfast to re-opening our room after check-out when I realized I was missing my engagement ring, to calling nightly to see if they can improve our stay in any way. It's a small motel overall, which means even if you get the "back" rooms, it's still a *very* short walk! I've stayed at the Desert Inn right next door before, and had a room in the middle, on the second floor, and it just seemed to take so long to walk to the stairs to get to our room! (Total first world problems, huh?) Both rooms we've had at Park Vue had a microwave and fridge. Coffee pots are standard. It's a safe, small parking lot, with good lighting, though no interior halls. While there isn't the interior halls, it feels safe, as there is no where for anyone to really "hide" to do any dastardly deeds. I've stayed there with DH, with DH and DD, and with just DD, and never felt concerned about our safety. The whole DLR is pretty safe, especially on the Harbor side, where most of the hotels and motels are.
