Hotel with Waterpark?

My son's birthday is coming up in 3 weeks and he's asked to go to a waterpark. He'll be 4 and isn't 40 inches yet, so he really won't be able to ride any of the major slides. We really just need the little kiddie slides/water splash area. At first we thought we'd do Great Wolf Lodge, but it's nearly $500 for 2 nights there.

We have over 110,000 Southwest points after booking our Disney flights so we thought we just might fly to Orlando and do a waterpark there for the weekend. We were leaning toward Nick Hotel (at just $110/night), but will it be warm enough for a waterpark in February there? What are our other hotel options? We'd just go for the weekend (Friday-Sunday).

OR if not Orlando, where else could we go? We're not doing a birthday party this year--instead we're using our free Southwest points to fly and have experiences.

We have been to both Nick Hotel and Coco Key in Orlando (as well as Danvers, MA and Ct). Be aware that Nick Hotel and Coco Key in Orlando charge a resort fee. I beleive Nick Hotel's fee was $30 A NIGHT!


I was going to book Nick Hotel for our April trip, but the cost of the Resort fee made me change my mind.

We are also looking at Liki Tiki Village, which has some water features for kids of all ages.

We go every February and it is always warm enough. We usually get a few days in the 80s. Take a look at the Marriott Harbour lake. A fantastic resort with a great on-site water park.

A lot of the resort pools are heated. Check to see if Nick is.

Coco Key looks great!! They have really inexpensive rates, like $60 right now, plus the $22 resort fee, so it's a great deal. It looks cleaner than the Nick hotel. P.S. the rates on the site were cheaper than the Groupon when I looked.
