Hello,
There are a few hotels near Disney that have mandatory valet parking.
What is the common tipping etiquette? Are we suppose to tip each time we pick up the car and drop off the car?

Please share your thoughts!

I tip $5 every time I pick up my car. It's not the valet's fault that the hotel has mandatory valet, so I don't hold it against them come tipping time. Some people will advise you to tip when dropping off the car as well to improve your chances of having the car driven well, parked close-by, etc. but I've never done that.

We tip each time we pick the car up. I think that's the standard. We do five or ten.

If I choose to use valet service then I would tip - but if there is no self park option then I would likely not be too pleased with the hotel, sure it's not the concierge fault but they benefit from the hotel forcing valet on every guests as well remember.

I have stayed places before where it's not much more for valet than regular parking and I still choose the regular parking because the tipping adds up!

It's funny, I always tip $5 when I drop off. I think it gets parked in a better spot when you tip the person who does the drop off. If the car is brought to me quickly during pick up I will tip as well.

Always tip a couple of bucks for the drop off and the pick up.

Not to hijack the thread, but since we are talking about tipping. What about the bellman? One bellman unloads your stuff from the car and a different bellman brings it's to your room - who do you tip? I was taught to tip $1-2 per item, but what happens when they split up on you?

The guy pulling luggage out of your car get's tipped out on checkout either from the Valet or the Bellman. Anywhere from $3-$5 is standard every time you have your car pulled or something retrieved from your car. Bigger tip means that it'll be kept in a closer spot and pulled right away.

Would it make a difference in how much you tip if the hotel charges you $10/day for parking?

Tips have nothing to do with the actual parking charge. The tip is for the person providing the service.

When in Vegas, I usually tip $3-$4 on both the drop off and the pick-up, especially if I am parking it more than once at a location (like a hotel)
