Hotel transport system

Hi

We are staying at POFQ in Oct 10. We want to do the characther breakfast at 1900 Park Fayre and then go into MK. Can we get to Mk (either by own car or resort bus) for opening and then use the monorail to get out to the GF, for say a 10am breakfast and back to MK after, or can you only use this if you are staying at the GF ?
