hotel suggestions in or near Port Jefferson, Long Island?

That's where we going on Sunday. We've been going since before DS5 was born and finally got to take him for his first time when he was 4 months old. It's our absolute favorite place to go in October.

Do you go to Briermeres (sp, sorry!) too? Man I could go for one of their raspberry peach pies right now. They are amazing. I could eat a whole one in one sitting, and im not even a pie lover!!!

Of course. DH always has to stop there on the way back :goodvibes. We have ordered their sugar free apple pies previously for Thanksgiving. It's pretty good. DS5 likes the cookies of course and I like the cider. DH likes the s/f apple pie and the blueberry cream pie (although he shouldn't have it since he's diabetic  ).

You guys are really making me miss LI! All this talk of Briermears pies, the farm stands on Sound Ave, really makes me miss up north this time of year!!

Where do you live now? Im at school in CT, and I miss them myself!! My boyfriend and I went to some orchards up here last weekend and it just wasn't the same. I keep asking my mom to just stick some food on the ferry and ill pick it up! How great would it be if that could actually get done?!

I live in Orlando now, grew up just outside of Hartford, graduated from UCONN (Go Uconn:woohoo: ) and all of my family lives on the east end of LI. I spent every summer in LI and miss it so much! I would take the ferry out there all the time, I even miss that! It just isn't the same when you don't live near a "big duck"!!

I go to Sacred Heart. Ever try explaining a garlic knot to someone in Florida? Thats always an interesting topic. But the big duck!!! Just got moved...made the front page of Newsday quite a few times. We used to see it all the time when I was little, it was in between my house and my grandparents. But hey, now you're close to Mickey!!
