Hi All,

September will be our 3rd trip to Disneyland this year and this time we will not be staying with relatives. Im looking for a decently close hotel (within a mile of DLR) with at least a 3 star rating.

Having only stayed at the Marriott and Holiday Inn Express ($120+) I'm looking for a budget conscious decision this time around. No more than $85 a night (Sept.23-27)

So far my options are ,
Hotel Menage
Anabella
Best Western

We will be driving so parking should be decently secured.

Look forward to suggestions and reviews!!

Best Regards,
Malachi T.

Which Best Western (there are several)? Anabella is nice, if you don't mind the walk (go north and cut through the GCH). Hotel Menage is a bit farther and caters more to business travelers from what I've heard, but it gets nice reviews. Have you tried Hotwire, LMT, Travelocity, etc.? It is possible you could get a very nice hotel in Anaheim or in Garden Grove (just at your one mile limit) in your price range. Also look at the Anaheim Plaza and the Super 8 (both the one on Katella and the one on Disneland Dr.).

@theluckyrabbit ...

The best westerns I have on my list is the Best Western plus and
Best Western at Stovalls

I have a discount I can use that those hotels accept ( I work in the airline industry) I'll will look into the ones you have suggested and contact their reservations to see I'd the honor my discount.

So excited time is almost here.... Hotel Menage is out of the picture. We booked there on a spontaneous trip and was accidentally Charged a fee to our credit card for room service we didn't order took 3 weeks before we got a refund. Our room key didn't work the first time. After three exchanges it finally worked. The staff was nice just disorganized. And transportation to DLR is provided at a fee... Didn't expect that but nonetheless I would prefer a less hassle hotel with a free transportation to DLR for the same price.

Don't know what they would charge this close out but Desert Inn and Suites is across the street and we've gotten it for $60 a night in the past

Thanks!! actually they currently have decent prices... Under $80 a night so far...

We've stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites once (and have 2 more stays there coming up). It's seriously close (1 hotel from being at the crosswalk to the pedestrian entrance). The rooms are nothing special, just basic cheap motel rooms. The beds are a bit hard for my taste, but life goes on, and for a room across the street from Disneyland for under $100, I can handle a hard bed! The breakfast is small (some Danish pastries, toast, apples, oranges, cereal, juice, coffee).

The things to remember with DI&S, I think, are that there is a $9/night parking fee, elevators are slow during cleaning-crew hours, towels are tiny and scratchy, and their prices steadily increase the longer you wait to book. I'm a strong believer, with DI&S, "book now, cancel later". Case in point: We currently have 4 different rooms booked with them, for 2 upcoming trips. We wanted the room, and wanted to be able to figure out dates later. They allow fee-free canceling until 48 hours before check-in. Booking early will give you a 2Q room for around $69/night (plus parking fees, plus taxes, plus resort fees). But, that same room, at a few weeks out, will be a significant chunk more (to the tune of $129, I believe I have seen!).

I love this review!! It definitely helps..... It has drawn my attention away from Quality inn... As they are quite close in price.... Although we are now less than as month out I'm sure that will change... My final booking date is the end of this month. So hopefully I get a few more suggestions before I pull the trigger on DI&S....

The best I've stayed in was the Tropicana. Like most of them, it's across Harbor Blvd. It's more set up like a motel but it was comfortable, clean and affordable. The only thing is, their free breakfast is awful and uneventful (boxes of donuts).

Lmao... OK the breakfast bit is killer funny... But yeah that is unacceptable to be honest... Anyone have a clue on what the Hampton inn experience is like?

Thanks for the assistance for those that responded... I have it narrowed down to Desert inn and suites or The Ramada.... Will be booking tomorrow... Any last meetings l minute suggestions? Vacation is only 3 wks away... Woot!
