Hello everyone!!! I will be staying at the Grand Floridian next weekend but we have decided to add an extra night. The Grand has no openings and since we plan on going to Downtown Disney this night anyway I was thinking of staying there in a delux whirlpool tower room. Has anyone ever stayed here and if so what did you think?? Tell me all about it. We usually stay at HIFS when this happens but we just wanted to try something new maybe. Thanks everyone!!

I stayed there in August and I LOVED it! I plan to stay there again in December. It's a beautiful hotel inside, the room I had was a tower room but not the deluxe whirlpool. I had a king size bed, entertainment armoire, two desks, two nightstands, a bench seat at the foot of the bed. The room was partitioned just slightly into a small sitting area with a love seat that pulled out into a twin bed, a coffee table and two chairs with a tall lamp between them. This area opened up to the balcony which was kind of small but still nice. The bathroom was simply huge! I had a seperate walk in shower and a large roman tub, large vanity area. There was also a wet bar in the room. The room was just beautiful. I can't wait to stay there again. :)

Thank you so much!! That sounds great!! I think I will go ahead and stay there for a change. I have always wanted to stay there and this seems like the perfect opportunity. I appreciate your help and am glad you enjoyed it there so much... I sometimes like offsite hotels better than Disney hotels just because of the ammenities that you get for a better price than Disney. I know that I am also staying at the Grand but I think it might be just a once in a while thing. I really love having a roman tub or the jacuzzi that is heart shaped at HIFS that you just can't get at Disney hotels for any where near that price. I know I am out of the norm for choosing to stay offsite but I just love the prices and the ammenities. HIFS is one of my favorite hotels in the area because of the amenities of the sweetheart suite but I just want to try something different this trip, something more luxurious and a little more romantic. I think Hotel Royal Plaza will be a great pair with the Grand Floridian, although I think I might miss the whirpool tub when we switch from Hotel Royal Plaza to the Grand but other than that I think I will love the Grand too!! Thanks again for all the help. I am so excited for this trip. Just me and my boyrfriend!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Well, I for one don't blame you at all! :) The two DTD hotels that I've stayed at were both nicer than any of the on-site rooms that I've had which range from the Contemporary to the All Stars. I think it's heaven when I can get a great room like the one I had at HRP for less than the cheapest rate on any room on-site. Not that staying on-site isn't great, sometimes it's just not the best deal or the best option. I've greatly enjoyed my DTD stays and am trying out another hotel there this weekend.

I hope you have a wonderful trip and that you enjoy HRP as much as I did. :wave2:

Just got back. We had a deluxe tower room. Very nice. We were able to get the room for $69 a night with the $7 resort fee waived. Go to travelzoo.com and see if they are still running the special??

It is close enough to walk to Downtown Disney, but we had a rental car and drove becuase it was late when we returned to the hotel.

I bet you can get a pretty good rate if you shop around!

I would definately stay there again!

Stayed there a few weeks ago and would stay again, especially with the low rate we had. One thing to consider however - the tower room we had was not on the I-4 side directly but we overlooked it from an angle. The noise from the highway was not really noticed during the day but at night for a light sleeper like me it was a bit loud. Try to get a tower room facing Downtown Disney or the Parks, the building might shield you from the noise if you think it might be a problem.

On the plus side our room was situated so we could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the balcony. Impressive.

In case you are wondering I timed our walk from hotel lobby to Downtown Disney and it was just under 15 minutes.

This is a great property in an ideal location. I loved it. Princess Michelle made me stay here.

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to go ahead and stay here for the extra night. Thanks so much for all the help and I can't wait to stay there! Thanks again. I really appreciate all the help!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
