Hi all,

I did some searching but wasn't able to come up with what I was looking for. I know there are some services that you can order from for a special gift basket for the hotel room but has anyone made up their own before? What do you typically put in them? Pictures? And if there is already a thread for this, please link me up! Thanks!

I didn't do baskets, but what I did was, in the months prior to our trip, occasionally hit up the dollar stores and party stores (for discounted past items) and even local supermarkets/pharmacies for stuff after holidays that were all Mickey or Princess or Disney related and grabbed one or two small things each time that I then asked Mouse-keeping to put out at the foot of the bed each day after servicing the room. (I did tip a little extra for their help as well.)

I had things like Disney glow-sticks, character stickers, cups, necklaces, mini-plushes, tattoos, etc.

It made it feel like the kids already had gotten a surprise each day and toned back the need to buy more extravagent items in the parks. (Although we obviously still shopped!)

Hope this helped a little! :goodvibes

I assume you're talking about Disney Floral? Like, the gift baskets they'll make and set up in the room for when you come in?

You can call them and talk to a florist about making something special happen. My husband did this recently and it was amazing. He asked them if there was anything they could do to include Belle and Beast since I'm a bibliophile (and he is very fuzzy!), and they came through!

Their site also has make your own gift baskets where you can choose individual things to put on, and they have some other things like rose petals, confetti, etc that you can ask to add onto another package or have individually. It kind of depends on who you are making a package for, though. (Kids vs adults) There are also restrictions if you are staying in AKL because of the animals, so be aware of that.

Same idea but wanted to make my own...just wondering what others put in theirs :)

I've done the Disney florist before and it was awesome! I plan to do it again for our upcoming trip :) But I also love surprises so I've done my own, too :)

On our last trip it was a couple of the custom personalized shirts I had made for the boys, autograph books, some little mickey toys they could play with in the room while they were waiting for Mom and Dad to finish getting us all ready in the morning, some coloring items, etc. Functional and fun for them to have presents to open :)

This trip we'll be celebrating their 5th and 8th birthdays at WDW so I am looking to make things extra special. Their birthdays fall within about 2 weeks of each other and we'll be in the parks (last day) for my 8yos actual bday.

The 1st 2 yrs we went I made my kids surprise baskets. I ordered some things from Etsy dot com ( ex. Disney character chocolate lollipops, autograph books and bags, Disney cloth crayon bag) picked up some Disney washcloths from the dollar tree and anything else from the dollar store I could find. The 1st year I almost got caught with the bags in our arrival night hotel offsite and 2nd yr hubby and kids came walking up to the front desk as I was checking in and giving the bags to the lady that checked us in and the bags were on the counter. I had to do some talking out of that one. From then on I have order baskets from Memories by betsy. You tell her what you want and how much you want to spend and she delivers to your resort the day of checkin. After checkin the resort brings to your room. However, last year at POR they gave my kids their baskets at the front desk. Back at Pop Century this year so don't know how they will do it this year.
