Hotel room questions (2)

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge in 6 days (yippee). We've never been there before and I have 2 questions:

1. Is the coffee maker in the room one of those tiny little things or is it a normal size? I was wondering if I wanted to bring my own coffee, what would be the easiest way? Should I buy the filter packs or just loose coffee?

2. This might sounds wierd but we've never stayed in a hotel with the kids before. Do you put clothes in the drawers or do you keep them in the suitcases? I was always told to never put your clothes in the drawers b/c they're never cleaned. I'm just tryng to figure out where to store all of the kids things since we're there for a week.

The coffee makers, if I remember correctly, are the 4-cup kind.

We never put our clothes in the drawers. No real reason, we just never do it. We DO hang some of our things up in the closets though - mostly those items that tend to get super-wrinkled. We go in summer, so all of our clothes are just mostly shorts, tanks, and shirts - pretty small stuff!

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Most, if not all the deluxe resorts have changed to the Cuisinart Senseo-type coffee pod coffee makers. Not sure WL has them yet. You may have to call or someone who has been there in the past week or so can chime in as to what they had. I know BWI had them 2 weeks ago when we were there.

Yes, it is really wierd. I also tried to get on here early this morning for almost and hour and it would freeze up everytime. Just this website.

We're going to be packing both warm and cold clothes, just in case and we're staying for 6 nights, so we have a good amount of stuff to bring. There are 4 kids and 2 adults. I'm wondering where we will keep all the suitcases open but out of the way for them to get to their stuff.

I stay for 8 days, and I like to feel like I am at home, so I always unpack.

I take sanitary wipes with me and wipe out the drawers before I put anything in them.

I am nuts about putting my clothes away and hanging clothes. What I do is check the drawers--if they look and feel clean, I'll put foldables away in the drawers. I hang as many things as possible to minimize wrinkling. My toiletries are organized in a hang up gizmo or placed on the counter if there is room.

When I travel with my sister or one other particular girlfriend, they both like to live out of their suitcase. It drives me crazy!!! I like a tidy as possible hotel room.:goodvibes. I'm really not a "neat freak" but travel is tedious enough without having clutter.

When my children were younger, I would assign everyone a drawer for their clothes with a plastic bag for dirty clothes and that helped keep things from getting lost or misplaced.

Happy planning!

buy some dollar store tissue paper and line the drawers, that is what I do !! Wipe them first if you feel the need.:thumbsup2
Never enough hangers, so I just bring some metal ones from home, easily fit in suitcase. I always leave DS's shirts on hangers when I pack, why no kid sized hangers at WDW?

We always unpack and use the drawers. I've never found WDW rooms unclean.
I have heard WL does have the senso pod type coffee makers now in all the rooms.
We'll be there in Jan, can't wait!

This made me smile because that's how it is with me and my sister. My family does it my way -- which means we wipe out the drawers and put our clothes in the drawers or hang them up. I have a collapsible hamper for our soiled clothes.

My sister does the "live out of the suitcase" methodology and they use the drawers as a dirty clothes hamper. Their room always looks like a tornado hit.

A couple of years ago we had connecting rooms and at one point during our stay my BIL came into our room, shook his head, and said "how did I get the hillbilly sister?" We still laugh about that.

To the OP, unpack, take a collapsible hamper that fits in your suitcase, and bring extra hangers. Also, bring clothes pins so you can pin your swimwear to the clothesline over the tub.

Have a fun trip.
