Hotel Reservations

I have been trying to book hotel reservations for the Contemporary resort. In one o our WDW planning books it says you can make your reservations up to a year in advance, but when i try to make the reservations for our Jan. 2013 trip, it says that only 2012 reservations can be booked. Is there a date when 2013 reservations are open?

You can call in and book a room-only now (407-W-DISNEY). You'll be charged a deposit equal to 1 night at the highest rack rate. When packages come out, you can call in and convert it to a package.

The pp is correct that you can call and book room only now, which will be quoted at the highest rate for 2012 and then adjusted once the 2013 rates are released, which should be sometime this summer. New rates usually come out in August, but this last year the 2012 rates came out in early June. If you want to book a package or book online, you have to wait until the 2013 rates are released. Keep in mind that a room only reservation can't be converted to a package just by adding tickets. If you book room only now and want to change to a package later, the room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit, as money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other.
