Hotel Remorse?!

I totally had hotel remorse after booking our first trip- we booked Saratoga Springs. I read so many negative reports about it... but we adored it! It is beautiful and really peaceful, and such a welcome break from the over stimulating surroundings of the parks (and that's for two adults). It would be our first choice for next year!

:)

If you booked last summer, are you paying rack rate? I would look, I think fall deals are out or will be soon. You wouldn't necessarily have to pick a new resort, but you may pay less!

Eta- darn autocorrect!

We stayed at CSR back in early Mar. and loved it! We had our own car, and though the parking lots seemed full, we never felt like it was around the resort grounds. The amenities are the close to being like that of a deluxe, except at mod prices. Lots of choices in the restaurants, the main pool is awesome, and its a really quiet resort. We look forward to staying there again, soon. Stay with your choice, dont think you will be disappointed.

Our first trip is planned for Fall 2015. We booked CSR for a week, and I did a lot of research and comparing at the time I booked last summer. I sort of walked away from trip planning since then and now that I'm coming back to it and the trip is getting closer I'm second guessing our hotel choice. We have two toddlers and will have our own car, and I'm not sure that CSR is right for us, but I know I thought about it a lot before I chose it.

Should I stick with our original choice or start over with researching and try to find a better fit while I might still have the chance? Is hotel remorse normal? What would you do?

My initial thought was maybe we should consider going cheaper on the hotel and do something more family friendly in the process and picked the little mermaid room at AoA only to find out they're already out of those rooms for our dates. So I feel like the pressure is on, if I'm going to change my mind I should do it now...help a confused first-timer please! Cheaper and more family friend are definitely thoughts I've had about switching, but not necessary.

I can't comment on CSR because I've never stayed there, mostly because the theme of it doesn't appeal to me. However, I have lots of experience taking toddlers to Disney and I think you might like a value resort. My kids always loved All Star Movies. It's a compact resort with a really fun theme. I've stayed there twice and enjoyed both stays. I also like how the bus stops have queue lines. It makes waiting for the bus less stressful in my opinion, because the lines are orderly and fair.

We stayed at CSR when my daughter was 3 and my niece was 2. We loved it! We were near the pool, which is great, the bus stop and a short walk to the main building. It is a big resort but we didn't feel it was that big. It was very relaxing and peaceful after the parks. We would stay there again, we had no problems at all! Other than my daughter falling into a bunch of cactus but that's another story! I think it's a great place to stay, rooms are a good size too.

Preferred rooms at CBR are $25 more per night than a standard room.
For the week of 11/14 -11/21 the rooms rates at CBR show as $186 for standard and $237 for preferred - approximately $50 difference.

At CSR business class is $241/night and standard the same at $186.

Not anymore. I think they raised the price when they started the refurb. :(:(

Wow i checked right before I posted last night and it was showing $25 more. That's crazy. Preferred at a $25 premium per night was so not worth it to us. Now, they're just being greedy.

Yeah it's a real bummer - I'd love preferred at CBR, but we have to book 2 rooms (family of six) which makes it $100/night more - that's a big difference for a week long trip. :-(

I'm usually all for Disney making money where they can, but on this I have to agree with you. Even POR has raised the rates of the preferred rooms to $40 or so more a night.:(

CSR is an amazing resort!! the food is excellent and ive also been to AoA: Little Mermaid rooms and i would not at all even put these resorts in the same league,CSR is much nicer and quieter! the LM rooms are small and noisy and a massive walk to the main entrance in my opinion i wasnt a big fan of AoA AT ALL! given the oppertunity it would be CSR all the way!

I've stayed at PO Riverside, CBR, and CSR and I have to say that CSR was our least favorite. It was just not appealing to us and it really didn't have a Disney feel to me. I love POR! It is my favorite moderate with CBR coming in 2nd. POR is so kid friendly and love the food court there. I agree with the earlier post, look on you tube. I didn't like the landscaping of CSR either. If you have young children, I would move to POR or CBR.

My suggestion: Go on youtube and look for videos giving you a tour of each hotel and their rooms. After that, I think you'll know in your heart which hotel you really want to stay at.

This is great advice! I was really set against staying in certain rooms after looking at posted photos, but watching YouTube videos of different rooms and resort grounds gave me a much better idea of what different areas would be like. Thank you for suggesting this--I feel confident now that I will like the place we're choosing.

I think CBR is much more interesting for little kids with the splash pad. And the rooms are refurbished. Super cute.

I wouldn't go back to CSR, rooms are boring/dated and the layout is the worst of all moderates.

Totally agree! CBR better choice. Would never stay at CSR again!
