Our first trip is planned for Fall 2015. We booked CSR for a week, and I did a lot of research and comparing at the time I booked last summer. I sort of walked away from trip planning since then and now that I'm coming back to it and the trip is getting closer I'm second guessing our hotel choice. We have two toddlers and will have our own car, and I'm not sure that CSR is right for us, but I know I thought about it a lot before I chose it.

I would take a deep breath and stay put. :goodvibes
If your choice is really, really, really bothering you, or money becomes a big factor......book Pop and request to be near the Generation Gap bridge and you can visit AofA. :)

I always have hotel remorse. And ADR remorse. And TouringPlan remorse. I am a constant changer. If you feel like your choice from last summer isn't working for you - change - there are so many other choices! Keep an eye out, other people's plans might change and a room at AoA might open up. We really liked that resort. Not sure if you'd think about a Family Suite instead and maybe book a Nemo room? We spent a day at the resort touring the other areas, getting pictures of the kids with all of the fun Disney theming. With AoA you will be immersed in Disney which I think is awesome for a first trip!

We just came back from CSR and we loved our stay! I prefer quiet and even though it was an extremely busy March break (lots of us Cdns escaping the cold!), it never felt crowded and buses were not full. We stayed in the Cabanas and pools were close by, bus stop was close, and it was not a long walk to the main building. Never heard a peep from the bedroom and didn't see conventioneers.

I might be in the minority but I will never stay at POR again. Horribly crowded and really noisy. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to CSR. So if you want busy, activity for your little ones - look around - but if you want peace from the parks, stick with CSR:thumbsup2

That being said my DD13 still would like to stay in LM one day - but I won't do doubles! You can always keep looking for cancellations.

Oh my gosh, I think my brain is fried from too much trip planning. I read the title of your thread and for one brief moment I thought 'Hotel Remorse' was for real!:rotfl2:
The newest DHS resort with a TOT theme.:rotfl:
Seriously though, we loved CSR. Beautiful resort!

Have you considered CBR? Same price but two toddlers may enjoy their pools more. Our family loved the CBR pools - and food court was good. We stayed POR and probably preferred its food court and loved the setting but keeping toddlers in mind I'd still vote CBR for pools.
And the side note to all of this - I've never stayed CSR and that's where we're booked for this Fall! Looking forward to trying it out - hoping our almost 4 year old will enjoy kiddie pool still - older kids should love the slide!

Stay put! I'm not sure what gave you the idea that CSR isn't family friendly, it most definitely is! You can find cheaper, so if you are looking to save money, switching to a value will do that. But all of the Disney resorts are extremely family friendly. The pool at CSR is many steps above any of the value resort pools.

I think CBR is much more interesting for little kids with the splash pad. And the rooms are refurbished. Super cute.

I wouldn't go back to CSR, rooms are boring/dated and the layout is the worst of all moderates.

I have to disagree. CBR is so huge that it needs an internal shuttle to get people around. CSR is easily walked. I also think the decor is more deluxe lite than the other moderates. Very pretty! CBR does have a good pool, but unless you spend extra $60+ a night for a preferred room, you can end up very far away from it. And having to hike, or wait for that darned shuttle to get to it.

Maxiesmom: You can still request Jamaica or Aruba buildings that are the closest to the Caribbean Cay path and it's really close to the main pool and food court. No extra charge.

Yes. But you are never guaranteed to get a request. And I've stayed in Jamaica without kids and found it a hassle to walk up front. I wouldn't want to do it with kids that want to get to the pool time after time.

Which building were you? We were 46, facing parking and it was just a two minutes walk.

Yeah, Jamaica's right over the bridge.

And I thought it was $10 or so a night more for a preferred room? We booked a preferred room last Feb, stayed in Martinique and loved it. I think it was maybe $100 total extra for 7 nights.

I know I thought about it a lot before I chose it.

Well, what were your reasons for choosing it? What are your reasons now for changing? Why do you think a Disney resort isn't family friendly? What do you think AOA would give you (besides a suite or a certain theme) that CSR won't give you? Work it out and see if a change should happen.

I remember having some concerns when trying a new resort. I can't remember which it was. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed by a Disney resort. But if you decide you want to save some money I would suggest the Pop or All Star Movies.

I think the Movies would excite your little ones more as themeing of each building will likely be familiar to them. I would imagine they have seen several Disney movies.

I would think the Pop's greatest draw would be not sharing the bus with other resorts. When you are tired and just want to get back to your room this can be a huge plus. Also, it is fun to walk over to the AoA. We stay at the Pop but go over to the AoA a few times a trip to eat in their food court. Best food court ever IMHO.

What ever you decide I am sure you will have a blast. :)

For my trip in the fall CBR preferred is closer to $60 more/night. similar to what you spend to get business class at CSR which includes the lounge.

Everyone has a different fav. Moderate!! But, it's Disney and all are family friendly! Our fav is POR Riverside. It's a beautiful resort, so peaceful & relaxing. And it has some extra things to offer, like a boat to DTD, horse & carriage rides, fishing hole, and family fun entertainment in the evening. Yeehaw Bob puts on a great show. I also think it has the best food court.

I've also stayed at CBR, but not since the new pool & kids splash area, it does look like lots of fun for little ones.

I woukd pick a mod over a value for your comfort too. More room, and Queen beds. The values only have double beds.
Watch for fall discounts to be released too.

So here's what you do: you go to CSR and check it out. Experience it fully for all it's worth. Then, you get addicted to Disney trips and plan your next one at a different resort. Just think, if you switch you might have switching-remorse and wonder if the new hotel is as good as what you would have had at CSR. Our first trip as a family with my 4 year old (at the time) was at a value, and even though there were things that I wasn't crazy about I was so happy to be able to bring my DS to disney world that I cried tears of happiness every time I thought about it.
Trust me, you'll have a great first time because it will all be new and amazing to your little ones, and that's what matters most.

Preferred rooms at CBR are $25 more per night than a standard room.
