We will be travelling down to Orlando in September to spend a few days at Universal Studios (staying a Loews Royal Pacific) and then 5 days spread across Discovery Cove, Sea World, and Aquatica. I need recommendations on a hotel in this area to book based on other's experiences. Mouse Savers recommended Embassy Suites Convention on I-drive which I have booked for 5 nights but have read mixed reviews about it on Trip Advisor. Anyone stayed here recently that can comment? Also, any other hotels you can recommend? SpringHill Suites, Fairfield, Renaissance, etc? Thanks for any help you can provide!

We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn SeaWorld when we did a SW parks trip. The rooms were spacious (studio suites, or there were one or two bedroom options for larger rooms with separate sleeping areas), each suite had a small kitchen, they offered a wonderful (and free) hot and cold breakfast buffet, parking was free, internet was free, there was a large courtyard with a sport court, grills, zero-entry pool and spacious hot tub, and it was an official hotel of SeaWorld (so we got free Quick Queue, early entry on select dates, etc.). Staff was wonderfully friendly and we felt very well taken care of.

I've stayed at both Residence Inn (where Gina also stayed) as well as the Fairfield Inn both right near DC, SW and Aquadica. Both had free parking and free breakfast, with the Residence Inn room having a small kitchen. The rooms at the Residence Inn were much larger than at the Fairfield, and our room at the Residence Inn had a sofa bed, the room at the Fairfield was 2 beds. Also, both have shuttle service, with Fairfield sharing with the Springhill Suites which sits right next to it. Both are neighbor hotels with the benefits to SW with it. 5 minute drives to all three places from both of those hotels. I drove, so did not use the shuttles. I would stay at both again. Both are basic, but clean and close hotels.

There are a ton of places near. Renaissance is the closest, can walk to SW from it, but it has a parking fee, and resort fee. We did the same thing 3 summer's ago, and 2 years ago over Christmas break. I have a Universal AP and I bought the family Super Grover tickets. We used the heck out of both by staying at Universal for several days and then over a week at the Busch parks. Both times, we also visited BGT twice during our stay.

Have a great time!
