I am begining to think about our first night in Florida, don't really want to get of flight in Miami and drive straight to Orlando as I am the only driver and feel this would be to much, I don't mind driving for about an hour and then driving the rest when we are up early (always wake up mega early first morning) arriving in Orlando for breakfast. So what I am looking for are hotels along the route or just of the route but really don't know where to look or what to search for but knew some people who might make recommendations to me

Thanks

We did the same thing and we stayed at the Comfort Inn Deerfield Beach which is about 45 miles North of Miami airport. The hotel was pretty good but it was about 5 years ago. If you don't want to drive so far I can also recommend the Crowne Plaza at Sawgrass Mills (about 30 miles North of the airport), which will also give you the opportunity to do some outlet shopping.

Last couple of times we stayed at the Embassy Suites Miami Intl Airport - we don't feel like driving very far at all after the flight! It's a fairly standard Embassy Suites, but good with the 2 kids as we get a two-double room with a sofabed in the living room. There's free drinks/snacks in the evening and free breakfast the next morning. Sets us up well for the drive to Orlando!

There's no view or anything though. Other times we have been to Miami Beach or just north. Can be pricey though. Last time there we stayed at Newport Beachside - it's a bit old fashioned, but not too expensive and they have suites. We also stayed there about 20 years ago when I think it was a Holiday Inn, so it was good to reminisce!

we stayed at the galleria "double tree" hotel in miami, about 5 mins walk from the beach and a 2 bed appt for£70 per night. no bfast, so id be interested if anyone has cheaper alternatives.
we too are doing an overnight stay on the day we travel, so any advice would be great..
