I’m waiting for 2020 packages to open to compare, but I can book hotel only now so I’ve been looking at prices.

We were kinda set on hojo, but so far their 2020 rates are high to me. $230 for basic room a night in April- that’s with with dis discount.

My same dates the best western park place is 180 a night.

Castle inn a suites I can get a suite for 200 a night ..

I guess my question is, should I go ahead and book us a hotel? Do hotel rates go up and down or just go up?

When in April are you looking? If it's the first half, it's smack in the middle of spring break which will raise the rates.

It’s the 8-15 so over Easter weekend. I’d expect rates to be higher but hojo surprises me as I’ve been watching their rates for a bit. I’m just wondering if these rates will most likely go up rather then down and if I should go ahead and lock in a rate now.

If there is a no penalty cancellation fee, go ahead and book something now. Then keep looking as other hotels open their books for that time period. You're looking at peak Spring Break (one/two weeks before and one/two weeks after Easter), so prices will be higher then. But you might find a deal in the meantime and rates might go down closer to your dates if hotels find they can't sell all their rooms. But I would book something now in case rates actually go up!

Most hotels in the area are refundable (until 2-4 days before you arrive). I would book now. You can always call back and get an updated lower rate, or cancel and re-book since they are refundable. That is what I do.

I really like Hojo, too, but if BWPPI is $50/night cheaper, even when you add in that you have to pay for parking at BWPPI (but at Hojo you don't), BWPPI would win hands down because of the price & it's a much closer walk.

Book now because the rates will only go up from here.
