Do people recommend this better than the Hotel Cheyanne?

I've been to the Cheyanne twice over the past few years and have really enjoyed it, but can the New York hotel offer the same type of buzz? or is it just better because it's a fraction nearer to the Disney complex?

This is a tricky one, and it's really all down to personal taste. I love the Hotel New York, but I haven't stayed at the Cheyenne. Many other people rave about the Cheyenne, especially the amazing theming.

The HNY is definitely a plusher hotel - bigger rooms, bigger bathrooms and the availability of room service. If they are the sort of things you are looking for then try it out. But I'm afraid I can't actually guarantee it will have that buzz you are looking for!!! :)

Yes a tricky one, and definetly personal taste... Up until now I have stayed at least 5 times in the Sequoia Lodge (mainly Winter visits) and 7 times in NBC (mainly spring summer visits). In May this year, I went for the first time just we and the wife and decided for the NY. I am going back in 3 weeks  and after lots of hesitations between Cheyenne (cheaper) and NBC decided for NBC. The reason mainly being worried of any loss of comfort ;)
My current views are:
Romantic visit: NY
Family visit: I think the seasons should match the theme, so summer: NBC and winter SL.

I think this is quite hard to compare since one is a 4 star while the other is a 2 star.
If you are wanting the luxury then HNY would be the choice.

Are you going with children. I would be inclined to say in the Cheyenne with little ones but as they get older children like the sofisticatedness of the HNY.

It is a great hotel for adults and somewhere with room service if you put little ones to sleep and need a meal or drink.

As others are saying, it is down to personal choice. I would say it depends who you are travelling with. I think if it is a family holiday try the Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay for a change as they're more "fun" than hotel new york and still have pools. Perhaps if it is just you and your partner the HNY would be a good choice.

As I've said before I like the Cheyanne, it's got that good feel factor inside and out of it, even when returning from the Disney Village.

It's still a long way away as we will probably book up in January for March or April.

What can the NY offer us that we will rate quite highly? Anyway, depends on the cash flow at the time. :goofy:
