Cannot believe how quickly time is flying and now the kids are back at school i can start hitting the boards again to help plan the surprise trip


We are staying at the HNY and i was wondering if i need to take towels with us ?

Also will there be a kettle in the room - i am packing loads of hot chocolate sachets to put in our mugs we are taking but wondered if i need to ask at reception for them ??

Also has anyone travelled in standard premier recently ??

We got a free upgrade due to them charging me 3 times which meant cancelling our weekend away for our anniversary but just wondered what was different i know you get food but wondered if you got drinks as well or anything different in the carriage ??


started to pack away my thermals now and but hats and gloves though the kids dont understand why they cant use them - i have told them to wait til its really cold - just hope its not before we go as we definately have a glove fairy who likes to pinch them

6 pairs of gloves went up in the loft and 3 pairs and 4 odd ones came down

Towels are provided and if you ask when you check in, they will send a kettle to your room.

I remember that

You'll get drinks with your food and the seats are larger and usually the carriages are quieter.

We phoned room service and asked for a kettle and cups as soon as we arrived, it came with 4 china cups and spoons within 10 minutes. We bought small milk cartons from the hotel shop. There are towels in the room and free towels at the pool.
