We’re going to be renting a car at MCO, then head to the port for the night. There seems to be quite a few choices of hotels. I’m thinking of a hotel where we can leave the car and they would shuttle us over. Is it better just to drive ourselves over (3 adults) in the morning or do some sort of package ? Any suggestions? Thank you!

Some of the hotels are charging as much or more than the Port. I know the Hampton/Home2Suites was charging $25 and the port is only $17. Even with the extra day the Port was cheaper.

Do you think it’s worth cost wise, to have a car service bring us from airport to a port hotel with a shuttle. We need a car after the cruise. Just didn’t know if you could rent a car near the port.

You can price out the difference between a car service and a rental with parking costs.

All of the major rental companies have a location near the port. People regularly rent a car after a cruise.

ok, great, thanks! Didn't think of renting directly at port, thanks.

I know there is a shuttle from the airport directly to the port, suggestions for a car service to take us from MCO to a hotel near the port?

Another option

Rent the car, return at the port the next morning and rent again at the end of the cruise. The rental car has a shuttle to the ship.

If you're open to renting a car, you can consider two one-way rentals...MCO to Port, then Port to MCO. If you can fit your party into a single vehicle, it might be a cost-effective means of transportation. I do this every cruise.

Goport website shows a bunch of hotels with fly, snooze, cruise packages. That will give you an idea of some options.

I have not parked a rental car in Port Canaveral. In the past, it was cheaper to do two one-way rentals. (No exorbitant one-way fees; probably due to high rental volume).
