Has anyone used hotel kingdom to book rooms? Do you have to pay upfront? Can you cancel reservations without a hassle? Any other suggestions?

You generally have to pay what amounts to the first night upfront. You can cancel most of the time up to 5 or so days out. The only charge is a $10 cancellation fee. If you do a search on the boards you will find many people who have used them in the past with fairly good results. There was a short timeframe back in the spring when VV had overbooked and some HK guests were transferred to other resorts. HK was very much proactive resolving the situation with guests who contacted them.

We have booked through them 3 different times with no problems.

We are using Hotel Kingdom for the first part of our trip in Nov. We got a great rate for a suite near Universal for 49.00 dollars a night. Which is 30 dollars cheaper then booking with the Hotel directly. You do have to pay a small amount up front. Which for us was 30.00 dollars. So far its been pain free. We've already called the hotel directly and confirmed the reservation and every thing that we were told by Hotel Kingdom is true. So far so good! :)

I have booked with them in the past and no problems so far. I also am booked for this Dec. 27 thru Jan 2 for $40.00 a night at MicroTel, new hotel with continental breakfast. It is one block off of International Drive. I have also canceled with them before and had no problems and you pay a low amount up front then pay the rest when you check out.

I had used them to book our trip for this month at the Vistana Resort. I had to cancel due to my husband's accident and they refunded everything, even the cancellation fee!! I've rebooked for next October with them again.
I can't say enough about them, they are great to deal with!:Pinkbounc

I used Hotel Kingdom for out trip last Easter. We got a Hampton Inn for a very good rate. The only minor problem I had was a mix up on getting a non-smoking room. I noticed that the confirmation said smoking when I was sure I had requested non-smoking so I called the hotel directly to make sure that could be changed. The person I talked to said no problem. When we arrived, we were assigned a smoking room. I didn't even go to the room because I knew that as non-smokers, we would never be happy in a smoking room for 7 nights. The person at the desk happened to be the same person I had talked to on the phone. She said that her manager had blocked the change and that apparently all the discounted rooms were supposed to be smoking. I insisted and she was finally able to change it. We had a great stay. Soooo, if you are particular about a non smoking room, you might want to look into that before making a reservation.

Good Luck!

Sherry
