Just wondering if anyone has stayed at this hotel : Baymont Inn & Suites located at 7601 Black Lake Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34747 and what are your thoughts?

I think this is the one right off 192 and while I haven't stayed there, it does look nice. I believe it was recently remodeled as when we visited my folks in Feb it was a different hotel, and it looked run down. When we were there in Dec it looked nice. It's on the back road from 192 to AK so it's very close WDW and you can go in the backway which might be less crowded. the hotel across the street from it does scare me a bit as it's vacant and does look a little run down.

The only other downside I see is that the gift shop on the corner has a VERY bright sign.

I am not sure if that helped or not.

this is its third name change - it was long ago Holiday Inn black lake

then it became some kind of cheap suites - where you even had to take out the trash (don't remember the name)

now it is Baymont Inn & suites.

so really don't know. If it got a good remake this time - it should be fine.

anyway it is one of the closes hotel to WDW. You are next to shertbert road (shortcut to Disney)

We have stayed here and I can tell you that it's the only place we stay now !! Our first stay was while it was being remodeled, little messy around the grounds, but still the room was great. Our last time staying there, the work was 90 % completed and what a great job they have done with the place !:thumbsup2 They have new beds, new widescreen flat tvs, new paint, basically it's like a brand new place. We are going back for our 5th stay there at the end of the month. Oh, and by the way if you go up to the 6th floor and look towards WDW you can see TOT, and also EE, and see some of the fireworks as well . If you stay there, I'm sure you will enjoy it!! And one other thing.....LOL one of the previous posters commented about the bright gift shop sign, whatever you do..... Dont stare at it, or you may go blind !!!:rotfl2: Brightest neon lights I have ever seen !

Good to hear, I'll be staying here March 1st.

I'm staying in a couple of weeks. Glad to hear it isn't too bad. I got three nights for $120, taxes and resort fees included.

We (me DD 13 & DDBFF 13) stayed there for 8 days October/November 2009. We loved it. :cloud9: We won the Baymont on Hotwire and were upgraded to a KidSuite upon check in. It was great for the girls to have their own space with a TV. The room was very clean with plenty of pillows and towels for three females. :rotfl: The 42" plasma TV was amazing. The microwave/fridge were also very nice. There was plenty of storage space - the cabinetry was beautiful. The pool was very nice too. I also felt it was a very safe place. We had a very minor problem with the sink and maintance was there to fix it in less than 15 minutes. I would stay there again.

The only thing that could have improved was the breakfast. It was typical "free breakfast" fare. The breakfast ends PROMPTLY at 9 am.

I am excited to hear your review- we are staying at the Baymont in November (DH has a ton of Wyndham Rewards points, so we got 5 nights for free). We booked a Kids' Suite, too. Is there a TV in the kids room?!? I didn't know that! I thought it was just the bunk bed. Is there a small set of drawers, too?

We are looking forward to the visit- stayed at another hotel just down 192 from Baymont 18 months ago, and loved the convenience of the Shereboth Rd way into WDW.

Yes there is a TV in the KidSuite room. It is a small one (12-15 inch). The room has a set of bunkbeds as well as a twin size bed. That room is small - just big enough for the bunkbeds and twin bed with about 2 feet between them. There is not a door to that room, just an open doorway. The walls also do not go all the way up to the celing. Sometimes I had to remind the girls to turn the TV down so that I could hear mine. But all in all it was a great place to stay with kids. The TV sits on a small TV stand that has a small amount of storage space. However the cabinetry in the room has two closets and several drawers.

Sounds like a decent place.

Just got a night there in November off of Hotwire. I didn't recognise the name so I was a little sceptical. But for 38$/night I couldn't beat it. We check in to CSR the very next day.

My DW, was asking why aren't we just staying there? Hmmm I guess that is something to think about next time. :confused3

We spent 6 nights- returned home yesterday.

The good:
*Lobby very nice
*free breakfast
*Kid Suites
*kitchenette in room (fridge, microwave, sink, cabinets)
*nice big vanity area
*well stocked store in lobby- had grab & go food items, souvenirs, etc
*very close to parks- especially AK
*clean and quiet

The not as good:
*staff was fine but not personable. More brisk and efficient than warm
*outside access to rooms and no "roomkey only" access to any areas after dark. Anyone could have just moseyed in to any guest areas- elevators on outside of building, too- a little too accessible. Staff never said hello or asked why we were there, even when entering lobby at 1am one night.
*small parking areas, not great lighting
*Had a few issues with not having hot enough water for a really warm shower in the mornings.

Overall, I would stay here again, although I would be a little concerned over the lack of security with the elevator situation.

Thanks so much for the review. We'll be staying at the Baymont, next week. We've been spoiled staying on-site the last few visits, but Holiday prices were just not possible this trip :)

Thanks again! :goodvibes

Call the hotel and request one of the high floors, facing Disney. We stayed on the 5th floor in June, and could watch the fireworks from the balcony.
