Hotel In Orlando

ORIGINALLY WE WERE THINKING ABOUT STAYING AT THE RADISSON BY THE PORT BUT NOW WE WERE THINKING ABOUT STAYING IN ORLANDO SO WE COULD GO TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM FOR THE DAY. MY QUESTIONS ARE : SHOULD WE KEEP OUR RESSIES AT THE RADISSON AND DRIVE TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM OR BOOK SOMETHING IN ORLANDO AND DRIVE TO THE PORT IN THE MORNING? AND, IF THE LATTER, ANY SUGGESTIONS WHERE TO STAY THAT IS CLOSE TO THE MK? WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NICE, CLEAN, AND WITH A NICE POOL. THANKS EVERYBODY.

I would definitely book a hotel in Orlando....after a loooooong day at MK, the last thing you'll want to do is drive so far back to hotel...You could awake early the day of cruise, drive then to port in plenty of time for early embarkation

I would recommend one of the Disney hotels...no matter your budget, you can't go wrong...

For sure, stay in Orlando. There is a row of hotels by Downtown Disney that is available on Priceline. Most are "resort level" meaning about $70 per night...all have DW transportation, pool, etc. There is a Best Western on the priceline list, I think 3*, much cheaper (like $45 ). You can also stay at any of the Disney hotels at varying rates depending on which hotel you choose. I've just found that I really don't use the Disney amenities the night before the cruise...so we are doing DW in a WDW hotel (vacation club), but checking out on Friday morning and moving off property to a less expensive hotel for Fri. nite. Yes, it is a little bit of a pain, but I have to be all packed up for the cruise anyhow. Will just pack an Overnight bag for the off property hotel, and save paying the "double points" for the Friday nite stay.
