Hotel in Jacksonville, FL

Can anyone provide any first hand info on the following hotels in Jacksonville, FL?

Comfort Inn Oceanfront on N First St
Country Inns and Suites on PGA Tour Blvd
Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort on N First St
Sea Horse Oceanfront Inn on Atlantic Blvd

A friend from work will be taking her husband down to the Mayo Clinic next month and needs to pick one of these hotels to stay at. Since she is going to be there she would like to be close to the beach so that's why she has picked these (along with hopefully a discount for being at the Mayo).

Any and all information would be GREATLY appreciated. She needs to mail the form to the Clinic tomorrow with the information of where they will be staying.

I would more than likely go with the one on PGA Tour Blvd. Most of the hotels near the beach have been ther for years. Since the area around the PGA Tour Blvd is fairly new, the hotel will more than likely be newer. I know Mayo has some hotels around it. I also thought that they had a hotel almost next door to the clinic.

But isn't that pretty far from Mayo?
Does she mind a drive?

I was thinking that those locations are a good drive from Mayo. She needs to find something closer to the Ponte Vedra side. Then she could just take JTB East to the coast and that would not be very far.

I don't have time this evening, but over the weekend I could look up some locations that would not be too far.

According to the brochure the Mayo sent her it's only 6-8 miles from those hotels to the clinic. There are hotels closer to it, but they cost more and she thought should could enjoy the beach while there.

Are there any condos or something like that in the area she could look at? I know it is going to be a very stressful tiem for her and I'd like for her to be as comfortable in her room as possible.

Sorry I should have clarified what I was thinking...the one on PGA
Tour Blvd I thought that may be a bit far, but it is newer compared with the other ones.

I agree with Doxdogy the other ones are old...in fact we have stayed at the Comfort Inn and the Holiday when we were first checking out Jacksonville...they aren't luxury by any means but were clean. (It's been 3 years since we stayed there) so who knows now.

The beach is wonderful though...we head down there all of the time...

What a good friend you are! I know this must be such a difficult time...
